Arnold Vosloo Resource Page:
It's a bit surprising when the Daily News on May 24 scans: "
Forget the solar eclipse, Cape Town is becoming the City of stars" alluding
to the new Canadian-German-Austrian TV production "The Red Phone". Stars
are a familiar sight in Cape Town. It's a popular metropolis for film stars.
Movie productions are comparatively cheap and the basic conditions are
A+. but it's almost impossible to believe that in former industrial plants
millions of dollars are earned whereas in the townships not so far away
thousands of people wait for politcal correctness.
"The red phone" is probably the biggest production filmed in Cape Town,
states the Daily News, that will earn the city millions of dollars. Last
time it was around 120 million Austrian Shilling that a production similar
in seize turned over.
Now, this production will come to Salzburg (Austria) too. It was thanks
to the Austrian government and a few producers that The Red Phone stays
up to 7 days in Salzburg bringing along Arnold Vosloo, the most sought-after
actor at the moment. The producers, especially Kris Dillinger had a knack
for it. The've got Arnold Vosloo to join the team, unsuspecting that the
leading man would break all records with "The Mummy Returns" in movie history.
In the first few days the film earned over US$ 100 million.
What's in for this production in Salzburg we'll find out soon. Of course
a lot of publicity - in [Austrian] movie business
a new development. On June 21, South Africa will experience an event
that the people of Salzburg are well remembering - the solar eclipse. When
it gets pitch dark in South Africa - the lights will go on in Salzburg.
The lights of movie business.
