This is an amazing vehicle. Click
for a song, hehe.
7.5 litre Buick V8, 6-seater, gas-ryder shocks, power windows, power seats,
power steering (of course), tilt steering, thermostat climate control with
up to 20 degrees separation, power trunk, AC that can form frost on the vents,
cruise control, side marker lights, lighted ashtrays, three lighter sockets,
armored steering column, 7 speaker sound system, CB radio, speed alert, trip
odometer, locked gas-cap, and even friggin air filters for the trunk! And
that's all stock equipment!
This car weighs about 4,600 pounds, but the monstrous engine still makes
this the fastest car I've ever driven. This is a 1971 Buick Electra
225 Limited. (Since it's a 1971 model, it has the 8.5:1 compression
for a longer lasting engine, but it doesn't have any of the pretend-to-be-environmentally-friendly
stuff like EGR which greatly sap power and gas mileage.) I get about
10 MPG in the city and 15 MPG on the highway, but I have gotten 28 MPG before.
I have plans for this car. I'm not interested in restoring it. I
don't wanna have a brand new old car. I want to pack it with technology
that even today's cars don't have. Laptop docking bays, LCD rear windshield
for sending messages to other drivers, MPFI turbo, 120vAC system throughout
car, DVD with 3 screens, and a whole lotta etcetera.
These plans will have to wait, though. I'm in the middle of four huge
projects. Normally, any one of these projects would seem like I've bit
off more than I can chew.
