How many organizations ask you for help for the needy throughout the year, especially during the holiday season? Like most people, you probably do what you can. Coats, food baskets and toys are given to needy families. Every year we help struggling families, and every year there seem to be more needy; and the children outgrow their coats; and they are hungry after the Christmas food basket is empty; and the toys are played with and left behind.
The hungry children become needy adults. They can?t fill out job applications, count back change to a customer, or make sense of a simple document such as a purchase order. We continue to give more, and they continue needing help, unable to lead the productive life they would rather have.
