DISNEYLAND PLAYSET FIGURES & ITEMS
We think the gray examples that can be found came out of the old Marx dump where after being buried 40-50 years they have turned color from original cream.

YOGI BEAR AT JELLYSTONE PARK FIGURES & ITEMS
Marx made an interesting Yogi Bear at Jellystone Park playset in 1962. Most of the pieces were reused from other sets and included; small wild animals, tree rows, tent set, outdoor ranch accessories, A trees, dead tree and stumps, 3 rock formations, wood fence, jeep, flag with pole and small canoe. These can be seen elsewhere in other TSHQ Marx pages. Marx did make some unique pieces as seen below for this set.
The Sears set had the above eight hard plastic, factory painted "tinyKings", and the Wards playset also included a Huckleberry Hound figure (not pictured). These could also be purchased individually in 5 & 10 stores along with other cartoon and Disney tinykins & tinykings.
A nice 12 piece shades of brown hard plastic accessory group was made including 2 piece Ranger's cabin, Gateway, 3 piece picnic table, picnic basket, fry pan, plate, coffee pot, TO THE GEYSER sign & PICNIC SITES sign. The cabin connecting pins and picnic table seem especially prone to damage.
Also unique was a fragile vacuform pond, usually found with some cracks. The canoe also came in boy scout sets.
FLINTSTONE STUFF
REISSUE 1991 "Ruby Edition" Flintstones Playset.
The Marx Flintstone set was full of fun. It came with 16 figures in 12 poses including 6 marked character figures. Original 1960s figures are in flat cream while those from the 1990s recast set are a fleshy peach color. Made in mold PL-1128 there were one each of 8 of the poses and duplicates of four others.
Marx added seven dinosaurs in five poses from their prehistoric sets. They were made in pale green.
original buildings were gray or brown and had green accessories. RECAST 1990s buildings (as seen above) were white with black speckles and had blue accessories.
To go with the "stone" houses, Marx made a set of 11 green accessories. Mold PL-1126 was run in green for the original 1960s playsets and in blue for the reissue sets.
Also included in the playset were two "cars". One for Fred and one for Barney.
FANTASYLAND
Comic and Cartoon Figure Sets
Store display board picture courtesy David Schafer.
In 1953 Marx came out with a Disney licensed set of figures packaged as the Walt Disney Television Playhouse. The figures were also sold individually as "bin/ counter top" toys. Either copies of the molds were made or the molds moved to Holland and then Germany as painted versions were made at the Marx operations in these countries. Some of the poses were also downsized and sold as hard plastic painted "tinykins". Photos courtesy Gus Wasson.
Television Playset Props
These pieces were made in two molds; PL-477 with 12 cavities and PL-478 with 9 cavities.
The molds have been run again in 2007 and new sets of props can now be collected.
DISNEY FIGURES
The Walt Disney Television Playhouse had figures made from three different molds; PL-461 15 cavities, PL-462 18 cavities & PL-503 10 cavities. Using the mint in box example seen above we can assign the figure sets to the following molds.
Mold PL-461 Figures 15 cavities; Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck Families + Dumbo
Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck Families 10 Cavities
This mold would have two of the Monty/Morty and three of the Huey/Dewey/Louie figures.
DUMBO 5 cavities
Mold PL-462 Figures, 18 cavities; Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio + Alice in Wonderland
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS 8 cavities
Mold PL-462B 10 cavities; Pinocchio & Alice in Wonderland
PINOCCHIO FIGURES 5 cavities
ALICE IN WONDERLAND FIGURES 5 cavities
Some of the Disney playhouse figures were also produced in hard styrene plastic and painted at the Marx Hong Kong facility. They were sold in individual boxes as "Disney Kings" being larger than the smaller "Disneykins" seen below.
PETER PAN FIGURES
Mold PL-503 10 cavities; Peter Pan, Makes two sets of five figures.
LATER HARDER TO FIND DISNEY FIGURES
Mold PL-647 15 cavities making 11 different designs. So some of these figures were made in duplicate. based upon what we have seen we suspect there were three of Goofy and two each of Lady & Tramp in the mold. In the US the figures made in unpainted polyethylene soft plastic and in styrene painted hard plastic. In Europe the mold was run in both soft plastic and rubber like vinyl. The European figures were factory painted.
CARTOON AND COMIC STRIP FIGURES
These figures were made in two molds; PL-508 12 cavities and PL-509 15 cavities. Based upon a mold shot of 12 cavities seen in PFPC issue # 28 page 40 we can assign the figure groups to their molds as follows;
Mold PL-508 12 cavities; Little Orphan Annie (2 cavities), Lil Abner (5 cavities) & Dick Tracey (5 cavities). , Import box "3111 PMO" from Germany with 10 of the 12 figures.
LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE FIGURES
LIL ABNER FIGURES
Painted Mammy Yokem's from Germany do not have a pipe for some reason.
DICK TRACY FIGURES
Mold PL-509 15 cavities; Blondie (5 cavities), Popeye (4 cavities), Barney Google (4 cavities), & Bringing up Father (2 cavities)
At some point the two Dagwood children were revised.
BLONDIE FIGURES
Marx made two series of Dagwood figures. The second series is hard to find. The first series Cookie may have a ring on the top of her head (see photo) and I might have put up a picture of a damaged one. Can anyone help me on this?

- DISNEYKINS, FAIRYKINS & TV-TINYKINS AND OTHER HARD PLASTIC PAINTED MARX CARTOON FIGURES
Marx made three distinct series of smaller 30-35mm "comic/cartoon" style figures some of which are smaller versions of the larger 60mm figures seen above. These smaller figures were sold in large sets (as pictured), smaller window box sets with several figures and in individual boxes. Generally hard plastic and painted some also exist in unpainted white soft plastic. To confuse matters Marx then made larger "Disney KING" versions in hard plastic and painted them. As some of the original 60mm molds had gone to Holland where soft plastic painted versions were made it all gets confusing
Wilton of Chicago made copies of Britains swoppets and Marx Babes in Toyland toy soldiers among other figures (usually in Hong Kong). Their Babes in Toy Land are made of hard plastic and hand painted.
Disneykins
PFPC #10 reported that as many as 160 Disneykins were produced, some for as long as ten years. Larger Disney Kings were also made of some of the poses (see picture below for size differences in Goofy and Dewey). Some of these figures also exist in white soft plastic.
Small white box TORN BADLY IN THE FRONT, marked on one end "HK-6762 4 DISNEYKINS MADE IN HONG KONG". Has Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Pluto in individual bags.
Fairykins
There were 35 different fairykins made about 1962.
TV-Tinykins
There were 36 different TV-Tinykins made about 1961. They were divided into five groups based upon popular television cartoon shows; Top Cat, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Huckleberry Hound and Quick Draw McGraw.
