Ledgers/Record Books

01.  SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! Large record book containing the handwritten (ink)"Minutes of the Goldfield City Council" from June 29, 1899 to December 17, 1903 the most explosive years in it's short history. Four hundred ninety nine (499) numbered and lined pages - almost everyone loaded with the most revealing information of a Colorado Gold Rush/Bust town. Weighs almost 11 pounds - about 11 1/2" x 16 1/4" x 2". Ledger bears the manufacturing label of W.H.KISTLER, Denver. Cover shows much wear/tear, but inside everything is in EXCELLENT condition.





02. SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! Large record book containing the last "Minutes of the Goldfield City Council" as it was slowly changing into a Ghost Town. First entry is dated May 10, 1923 - last is dated July 1, 1930. On the following page is taped a handwritten note in ink, dated May 11, 1931, in which the City Clerk, Gertrude Tucker, tenders her resignation. Some handwritten notes and letters are taped to some more pages (137 pages have been used). The record book itself is 300 pages, black & red cover, 16 3/8" x 11 3/4", weighs 7 pounds, and is in VERY GOOD CONDITION showing minor wear & tear. Included is the original billing invoice for the book from The Out West Printing and Stationery Co., dated May 31, 1923, showing a cost of $10.00.



03.  SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! Large warrant register book, about 14" x 17", black & red cover, sold by Kistler Stationery in Denver and has Kistler's dated sticker (4-22-1914) on the inside of the cover. About 138 numbered pages, in GOOD condition (cover suffers from wear & tear - pages are in VERY GOOD condition), lists approximately 3503 warrants issued beginning with #6411 (5-15-1914) and ending with #9913 (12-18-1929). Each entry shows date, to whom issued, under which fund, amount, interest paid upon payment, date registered/called/paid, and a remarks section. Records a significant portion of Goldfield's short, but wild history.



04.  SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! The actual monster leather bound CASH BOOK for the City of Goldfield, Colorado recording all Receipts, Distribution to Funds, and Disbursements - first entry is May 1, 1917, last is June 1, 1931. Weighs 14 lbs, 13"W x 18 1/4"H x 2"D - 500 numbered pages of which 339 have inked entries. Inside in EXCELLENT condition, exterior in GOOD condition showing much wear/tear to the leather. Inside of f/cover has the original "HOECKEL" label.



05.  Book of "Poll Tax Notice - CITY OF GOLDFIELD" forms (about 100 pages), unused, 8 1/8" x 3" - probably from the 1920's. Each blank page (to be filled in with the date, the person's name, and signed by the "City Street Supervisor") gives notice that a Poll Tax of $2.50 (or equivalent work) is due. In EXCELLENT condition. $75.00

06.  Book of "Water Receipts - CITY OF GOLDFIELD" forms (about 80 pages - 3 per page), unused, 8 1/2" x 12" - probably from the 1920's. City receipt forms given when payment made. In EXCELLENT condition. $80.00
