Graphics

  • WinGIMP is a Windows-port of the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
     
  • Blender is for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback.
     
  • Cat-photo is a system for long-term photo archiving of photos including a python script for web publishing and WinPhoto for the Windows user.
     
  • Dia is a drawing program (diagram creation program) like the proprietary Windows program 'Visio™'.
     
  • IMGV is an Image Viewer with many standard and unique features.
     
  • Inkscape is a drawing tool with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, and CorelDraw that uses the web standard scalable vector graphics format (SVG).
     
  • JIBS provides full-screen slide shows, image sorting, and simple image manipulation. Written in Java.
     
  • JImageView allows viewing of GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIF, BMP (Win95 type), and any other type of images that the Java Advanced Imaging (JAI) API supports.
    Other features include: images can be zoomed in or out, slide show, thumbnail view and thumbnails can be cached to disk.
     
  • OpenFX is an Open-Source 3D modeling, animation and rendering suite created by Dr. Stuart Ferguson.
     
  • Paint.NET is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows 2000, XP, or Server 2003.
     
  • Sodipodi is general vector illustrating application for Linux/Unix and Windows. It uses W3C SVG as native file and in-memory image format and can do many neat things.

Multimedia

  • Audacity is software for recording and editing sounds (like WinAMP).
     
  • CD-DA X-Tractor is a CD Ripper for 32-bit Windows platforms (95/98/NT/2000). Features intelligent jitter correction, on-the-fly MP3 encoding via BladeEnc or LameEnc, and provides support for NT/2000 natively (no ASPI manager required).
     
  • CDex is a tool to do all sorts of things audio related. Mainly focused on ripping and converting, things like turning your home Compact Disc collection into an mp3 collection on your hard drive become extremely easy. With built in support for many encoders you wont find any shortage of options for your media files.
     
  • CoolPlayer is a Blazing Fast Audio Player for Win32 Environments.
     
  • musikCube is a small, fast, and fully featured media management and playback system supporting Windows 2000 and Windows XP. (ogg, mp3, flac, and cd audio).
     
  • VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit Windows platforms (95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP).
     
  • VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
     
  • winLAME is an encoder for several audio formats, including mp3 (MPEG Layer 3), Ogg Vorbis and more. It supports many input audio formats, and uses the LAME mp3 encoding library for encoding and the MAD decoding library for decoding.
     
  • Zinf audio player is a simple, but powerful audio player for Linux and Win32. It supports MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, WAV and Audio CD playback, SHOUTcast/Icecast HTTP streaming, RTP streaming, a powerful music browser, theme support and a download manager.
