THE NEIGHBORHOOD
This is the some of the "neighborhood" right by Sunset Sands. Mission Blvd. divides the spit separating the ocean from the bay. The ocean is about a block to the west, and Mission Bay is about 2 blocks to the east.
Within a few hundred feet of the
unit there are several excellent restaurants, a couple of
bakeries and coffee shops, clothes boutiques, a surf shop, a
roller blade rental store, and a jewelry store. If you can drag
yourself from the beach, you will find a fun "real
world" closeby.
THE "Old Mission Beach" District
Sunset Sands lies in the heart of the "Old Mission Beach" business district. This small area encompasses about a quarter mile north and south of the unit on Mission Blvd.
Tree-lined courts and beach bungalow alleys characterize this area between Tangiers Court to the north and Santa Clara Place to the south. This is a great spot because of the compact clustering of a number of interesting, fun, and fashionable businesses.
Complete with hip fashion boutiques, art galleries and specialty gift shops, the neighborhood boasts the largest selection of swimwear in Southern California. Travel like the locals do, and ride a Sunset Sands bike. Or rent some roller blades from one of several excellent rental shops in the neighborhood.
