Sir:

There’s a skunk loose in your office somewhere.

I am writing directly to you because I feel that I have not received a full or competent resolution to my problem/complaint by the staff of your office.

I initially used the TDI online complaint form (http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/consumer/lhform.html) on August 29, 1999.

An October 14, 1999 a reply (with attachments) to my complaint was received from Complaints Specialist Mabel E. Cartey. (Document ID 424921). The physical and mental effects of that reply caused a delay in my responding. It contained an irrelevant rehash of events that occurred prior to the dates of my complaint, and in no way addressed the nature of my complaint.

On November 17, 1999, I sent an e-mail message about this matter to Ms. Cartey and a cc: to Texas Attorney General John Cornyn. I used the e-mail address Ms. Cartey included in the October 14, 1999 correspondence.

The e-mail to Ms. Cartey was returned to me by your e-mail daemon. It was returned because it had remained unopened in the queue beyond your wait criteria.

On November 21, 1999, I resent the message to postmaster@tdi.state.tx.us, requesting forwarding to Ms. Cartey. This e-mail has not been returned.

On December 22, 1999, using the TDI complaint form, I then faxed the same information to your office.

To date, I have not received a reply from either Ms. Cartey or postmaster@tdi.state.tx.us or anyone else in your office. I did receive a reply from Attorney General Cornyn’s office on November 24, 1999.

I feel that the initial handling of my claim was incomplete and substandard, and the subsequent delay in responding to my additional requests for reopening the complaint reflects poorly on your office.

Any assistance in obtaining action on my complaint, or further guidance, would be appreciated. A copy of each document referenced above may be found at the internet address (URL) below.

Thank you,
