VASTO:

Immense... it has been a concert of another level. In the delicate frame of an Italian-style theatre with rows of boxes, beautifully restored, Peter gave an intense and pulsating yet at the same time polished and disciplined performance, without the empty passages of the evening before.

Let me especially emphasize two things: a) To whoever predicted, crystal-ball-equipped, that the set list would not or nearly not be changed during this tour, Hammill has actually played NINE different songs compared to the concert in Rome. b) To whoever said that Hammill did not want a support act: the organizers have placed before him a local blues quartet called EMERGENTE. Not only did Peter not bat an eyelid, but this did not influence his performance in the slightest.

However... shall we get on with the set list?

Piano:

The Siren Song
Too Many of My Yesterdays
Nothing Comes
Tango For One

Guitar:

Amnesiac
Been Alone So Long
Like Veronica
Time For A Change
Come Clean
Modern

Piano:

Unrehearsed
Bubble
A Way Out
Traintime

Refugees

The high point of the evening was a powerful version of " Modern ", and an " A way out " so intense that it brought even Peter close to tears.

Their parting shot was an aggressive " Traintime ", and the very end was a heart-throbbing version of " Refugees " enriched by Stuart Gordon's magical violin. Indeed a beautiful concert. And the ticket was only 10,000 Lire...

......Thanks Dagmar!!
