O'DOCHARTAIGH ASSOCIATES
PARENTING SKILLS
George W. Doherty, M.S., LPC
These are a series of sessions with ideas and recommendations
about parenting skills. They, by no means, are exhaustive, but
are merely suggestive. If you are having difficulties with a
child, it is strongly recommended that you seek professional
assistance. You may wish to contact and discuss the problem
with your family physician, pediatrician, school counselor,
child psychologist, counselor, pastor, or other professional
who can work with you personally to help resolve the problem.
Each of the eight topic areas deals with different problems.
You may start with one and go sequentially, or you may pick
an area of interest and go straight to it. It is suggested
that you go to Session 1 first in any case.
While each session can stand alone, there are certain concepts
and terms, etc. that are presented in the earlier sessions
that are used in later ones. You can always click back to an
earlier session if you wish to refresh yourself and/or clarify
information.
Good luck and please provide some feedback and/or ask questions
by using either the email address (highplains140@usa.net) or
the guestbook.
