INDIVIDUALIZED STRESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The ISMP is one of a series of tools designed to help you and your
organization get the most from our human asset management services.
Through our Individualized Stress Management Program (ISMP), you and
your employees or fellow group members will learn to better manage
stress and, in the process, increase efficiency and productivity by
reducing turnover, absenteeism, burn-out, and accidents.
ISMP is a customized approach for learning to manage stress. Our
consultants will conduct the entire program, providing everything
necessary for effective stress-control training within your group or
organization.
Everyone gains when you provide ISMP training because:
MANAGERS learn how to assist employees who are
experiencing stress;
PERSONNEL COUNSELORS receive quick and accurate
information for individual counseling;
PROBLEM EMPLOYEES learn to reduce stress-related
difficulties;
ENERGETIC EMPLOYEES eliminate stressors and become
even more effective.
Two assessment tools are used to begin the ISMP process:
(1) The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF) is used to profile
an individual's personality and to identify qualities that may
contribute to his or her stress.
(2) The Stress Evaluation Inventory gauges the levels of stress in an
individual's personal, family, and job settings.
Acustomized computer-generated stress workbook is prepared for each
individual, based on his or her test results. This workbook is designed
to help the individual understand the stress that he or she experiences,
to recognize its sources, and to develop ways to control or prevent it.
EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVES AN 80 TO 90 PAGE WORKBOOK
CONTAINING:
GENERAL INFORMATION that defines stress, its
symptoms, and how it affects daily life;
CUSTOM DESIGNED PERSONAL BEHAVIOR GOALS that
encourage the developmant of long-term skills when coping with people,
situations, and events;
INDIVIDUAL, ASSESSMENT-BASED TRAINING ACTIVITIES
that help the individual use personal resources to meet the challenges that
confront him or her in work, home, and personal life.
The customized workbooks are distributed by our program coordinator at a
group session. The content and objectives of the material are explained at
this session. During the following sessions, participants complete their
workbooks, develop personal stress management plans, and work on the goals
they've set for themselves. A follow-up session for group discussion and
motivation may be arranged and individual counseling sessions can be
scheduled if desired.
Knowledge from the introductory session is expanded as the participants
become familiar with the contents of their workbook exercises and as they
put their stress management action plans into practice. Basic concepts are
reinforced at the follow-up session with our consultant. The workbook serves
as a resource as the participants continue to work on their stress
management skills.
