MOWRER'S TWO FACTOR MODEL: APPLICATIONS TO DISASTER MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

     Mowrer's two factor model explicates the etiology of posttraumatic stress 
     disorder (PTSD) and exposure based therapies. Preventing PTSD has led to
     development of strategies such as "debriefings". There is little empirical research
     or theoretical support for these interventions. This paper will apply Mowrer's
     two factor model to PTSD prevention methods.
