We had to make a hard decision early in 1999 regarding Tucker's health. It seems that he had come down with a terrible case of pneumonia (if due to the miserably cold, LONG winter that we had, or because of some other unknown cause it is unclear). After several weeks of unsuccessful antibiotic therapy (with the loss of over 20 pounds), and upon the suggestion of our veterinarian, we chose to not make him go through the difficult and seemingly impossible process of trying to heal his respiratory illness. He had several other issues that were complicating his general health as well. With no regret, but tremendous sadness, we chose to give him the peace and comfort of eternal sleep.
**Thanks, Tucker, for all that you taught us! We loved you as we know you loved us. Guard the gates of Rainbow Bridge, until we meet again.**
