This is Maverick when he was about 1 year old. We had possession of this young dog from the age of 4.5 months to 1.5 years of age. He was imported from Brazil at the tender young age of 4 months.  Minida Dowdy and Adriano Budri were responsible for importing him to America and also for encouraging his breeder to have Maverick's parents x-rayed for hip dysplasia.  The x-ray films were then sent to Minida who then spent the money to submit them to OFA.  His mother at 49 months of age was OFA Good and his father at 66 months was OFA Fair.  He has several siblings who were preliminary OFA'd with scores of Good and Fair as well as a sister who received an Excellent at the age of 21 months.  He was done as a puppy and is Prelim. OFA Good.  His PennHIP was also done at 12 months and he was evaluated with no degenerative joint disease and fell within the median for the breed.  He is a slow grower who was 116# at a 1.5 years of age, but this is very typical for his lines.  From looking at photos (see below) of his older siblings (his mother and father were bred more than once and he is from a younger litter) he should mature to be a very handsome dog indeed! We have high hopes that this young stud dog's influence will add new blood to our breeding kennel - his first litter was born to our girl Ashley on November 28, 2000. He has since sired two more litters - one litter of 3 out of DJ, and one litter of 2 out of Lucy.
