Ashley’s Awesome Appetizers

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour the hot water over the margarine. Stir in the powdered milk, salt and egg. Add the flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Knead 3-4 minutes. Add more flour if dough is not stiff. Flatten to 1/2 inch thick and cut into biscuits with a knife or with a cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool until hard and dry. Refrigerate biscuits so they will keep longer.

    Kodiak's Kick-Ass Kookies

    Ingredients:

  • 12 to 16 ounces raw liver (beef, chicken, venison, etc.)
  • 1 and 1/2 pounds of white flour
  • 8 ounces rolled oats
  • 3 bouillon cubes, any flavor
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • approximately 1/2 pint of water

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Chop the liver finely or place it in the blender for a short period of time. In a large bowl, mix the flour and oats, crumble in the bouillon cubes, then add the eggs and the chopped liver. Add enough water to make a firm, somewhat sticky dough. Flatten to 1-2 inches thick and cut into biscuits with a knife or with a cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Cool until hard and dry. Refrigerate biscuits so they will keep longer.

    DJ’s Garlic Delights

    Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup corn meal
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon bone meal (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup hot water

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together flour, cornmeal, and bone meal. Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water, and add oil and garlic. Mix wet and dry ingredients thoroughly. Flatten to 1/2 inch thick and cut into biscuits with a knife or with a cookie cutter. Place on baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes or until hard. Refrigerate biscuits so they will keep longer.

    Hanna's Hardy Whole Wheat Treat

    Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/4 cup whole wheat or rye flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon bone meal or powdered milk
  • 3 Tablespoons oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup water or broth
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons brewers yeast or grated cheese

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the dry ingredients. Add the water or broth, oil and garlic and then mix well. Roll out and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cut into shapes with a knife or a cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Sprinkle with brewers yeast or grated cheese for extra flavor.
