FOX CREEK'S MARES

The mares are the beauty of breeding. Most of the mares here at Fox Creek's home are either daughters or granddaughters of showmares that had been owned by my father. Others are related and then still others are from lines of showhorses that we liked. Most of the mares were unshown as they were bred and kept for breeding.. In other words, to us, they have showhorse pedigrees.

CLOVER PATCH
This is the granddaughter of the first showhorse that my father bought. We showed her under the direction of Jim B. Robertson when he was at Rock Creek Riding Club in Louisville, KY. Clover Patch is by Commander Denmark, a son of Rhythm Command and out of Sophia's Sweet Conclusion by Hideaway's Firefly Supreme. Her second dam was Plainview's Sophia Van Cleve by Lexington Leader and her next dam was Sophia Van Cleve by American Born. Clover Patch is a full sister to RWC Jennifer Logan.

CREDIT SUISSE
This is the last foal of our second showmare, Scusi, whom we showed as Sugar Pop. Credit Suisse is by Quantico and out of Scusi by Master Denmark. Her second dam, Ann of Marriott Farms was by Astral A and her third dam was by Tilley's Rex. Like old lines? She has them.

COMMANDER'S SUGAR POP
You guessed it. This is the daughter of Credit Suisse. She is by Lucky Commander, son of Wing Commander. I purposely kept her to breed. She is line bred Master Denmark. Game and smart.

CIRCUS BELLE
Circus Belle is another of the daughters of a showmare of ours. She is by Fountain of Youth, a son of Yorktown and out of CH Cedar Creek Sixty-five by Stonewall's Jubillee. Cedar Creek Sixty-Five was shown as Annabelle. Her next dam was by Starheart Brigade.

GOOD PARTY
I first saw this mare as a three year old at Mr Frank Bradshaw's. I wanted her immediately. It Took me 9 years to get her. She was a racking and trotting fool. When I bought her, I had breeding her in mind, but she was in training. I showed her for the summer and pulled her shoes after she came out of the class for the last time. Good Party is by Status Symbol, a son of Valley View Supreme and out of First Chance by Wingmaster. Her second dam is Grassland's Irish Rose by Kalarama Colonel and her third dam is Abie's Baby. Pedigree sounds familiar? It should. Her first dam is a full sister to RWC CH The First Look. Her second dam is a full sister to WGC CH Colonel Boyle and WC sire Broadland's Killarney.

LL AMAZING GRACE
I followed this mare for years. Not in the showring, (she was never shown) but as to where she was. My father had purchased her dam from Costello's Holiday Farm. Ed Teater was our Trainer at Rock Creek then. She was shown as Holiday's Best Wishes. She was game, game, game. She could go like the wind, racking and trotting with a set of hocks that even the best hackney would be envious of. The only problem was that she would get so built up that is was hard to keep her on the ground! She was in the showring when she broke her leg. It took alot to get her to quit. Six months later, we had a broodmare. This is Holiday's last and only living daughter. LL Amazing Grace is by CH Leslie Lane's Grand Slam, a son of Starheart Stonewall and a Colonel Sport mare. Her dam Best Wishes of Marywood (Holiday's Best Wishes) was by The Parading Promise. Her next dam was by Conowingo. She is related to WC Popular Time in that Grace's first dam and that of Popular Time's were full sisters. Grace "graced" me with a filly on April 27, 1998.

MARGO STARR
This is the only daughter of Gold Star's Ballerina, the dam of my stallion, Fox Creek. This mare was unshown so that we could keep her bloodlines going. She is also the last registered daughter of Lucky Commander. Her dam, Gold Star's Ballerina was by Stonewall's Main Event, a son of Starheart Stonewall. Her second dam is Sultan's Gold Star by Supreme Sultan and the third dam is April Sea by Bobby Sea. Gold Star's Ballerina is the unshown half sister to RWC Unforgiven. Our family connection here is that Sultan's Gold Star was a half sister to my five gaited gelding of the 70s, RWC CH Stonewall's Gift of Gold. This mare's maternal side is not only in the horses listed above, but also in the pedigrees of CH April Hills Red Gold, CH Everything Irish (dam of Callaway Hills' young stallion, Everything Will), CH The Irish Flame, City Glitter, etc.

MISS GO-GO
This mare is not family related, but definiely show horse related! She is Stonewall King bred. She is by Chemistry, a son of Skyrim's Bourbon Stonewall and out of a Gay Lover mare. Her first dam, Stonewall Victress was by On The Go and the next dam was by Bobby Sea. Go-Go's dam was a full sister to Sonny Sutton's five gaited mare , Shelcrest Que Sera. Her 1998 colt was born April 27.

STONEWALL'S MAGNIFICENT ROSE
This mare was purchased for her bloodlines, and also it was a gamble that I could not pass on. She had had her last foal in 1991 when I purchased her in the Fall of 1995. Rose is by Stonewall's Magnificent Genius, a full brother to Greenway Commander. Unfortunately, this stallion died at a young age in a fire at Clyde McCoy's Farm in KY. Her dam is by WC Chief of Greystone and out of a Indiana Peavine mare. Her dam is a half sister to WC CH The King Of Highpoint. She had her 1998 foal on May 5.

WILD IS THE WIND
This is a futurity foal that I kept for the broodmare band. She was third for me at Louisville. She is by Quantico and out of a mare by Skyrim's Bourbon Stonewall. Her next dam is by Wild Ace and out of a Royal Rex Sea mare. This mare was go forward. She had a motor and I thought that it needed to be preserved. Still like her too.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading about Fox Creek's mares. Come again and see what updates we have. Hopefully, I will be able to have photos soon! Thanks for dropping by.
