This unique publication is both a Field and a Reference Guide that will be
useful to both the amateur and professional entomologist; as well as the
general nature lover. It is not a comprehensive guide, but more of a compilation
of field data and observations of more than 150 insects that can be found in and
around the Santa Rita Mountain range in Southern Arizona.
More than 150 species in 9 orders are reviewed. Field photos of insects, habitats
and ecosystems, as well a chart and a map, are included. Biology, Behavior, Host
Plants and Suggested Localities are treated. Common names, scientific names,
synonyms and plant zones are listed for most species. Includes seasonal and
diurnal information.
More than 131 pages of text, 172 color photos of insects1, 16 host plant photos,
16 locality photos, color photos of ecosystems, habitats and niches.
