Bondstrand Firewater Piping Systems Available from BONDSTRONG PTY LTD

Bondstrand PSX L3

PSX L3 is the latest development in Ameron's superior range of of fibreglass firewater systems. The resin for this system is based on their new polysiloxane phenolic (PSX) technology that provides excellent performance in full hydrocarbon fires without the requirement for additional protection of a insulating intumescent epoxy coating, as previously used in the offshore market. The PSX resin produces very low smoke and toxic emissions when in a full fire compared with epoxy or polyester resins, which means the system can be used inside living accommodation with complete safety. PSX L3 meets all the requirements of IMO Level 3 fire performance specifications and has been approved by both Lloyd's Resister and DNV for use on offshore facilities for wet fire systems.

PSX L3 Specifications:

PSX L3 is most cost effective firewater system available on the market today when compared with corrosion resistant alloy equivilents (Cuni, Duplex etc.). Not only is the up front capital installed cost substantially less, but also PSX L3 will return your investment many times over by reduction in maintenance costs over the life of the facilities.

Bondstrand PSX JF Series

PSX Jet Fire (JF) is the natural extension of the PSX L3 Series. PSX JF system also uses the new polysiloxane phenolic (PSX) technology that provides excellent performance in full hydrocarbon fires without the requirement for additional protection of a insulating intumescent epoxy. PSX JF meets all the requirements of UKOOA guidelines for fire performance of dry deluge systems and has been approved by both Lloyd's Resister and DNV for use on offshore facilities for the same.

PSX JF is basically the same as PSX L3, except that additional outer layers of polypropylene/PSX resin/glass filaments is wound external to the structural wall of the pipe or fitting. In a jet fire the heat turns the ploypropylene into gas trapped between the layers of glass reinforced resin, thus setting up a insulating barrier that negates erroding force and heat of the jet fire. This means that a dry PSX JF system will survive the first seven to ten minutes of a jet fire until the water is deluged through the system without risk or affect.

PSX JF Specifications:
