Linda
Smith
Linda Smith was born in Manhattan in 1947 and destined to become a painter.
After studying at New York's High School of Art and Design, and attending
classes in aesthetics and painting, including South Hampton University, Linda
Smith has shown her work in Greenwich Village and other variegated art galleries
that have come and gone. She continues on in her studio in suburban New York.
Having been a painter for 35 years, Linda mixes visual imagery without prejudices
about styles or mediums. Every painting she completes is an experiment, a
single perception in multiple planes. She paints simultaneously with a measure
of Realism, of Romanticism and Abstract Expressionism to coin her own unique
vision.
Linda's art is found throughout the poetry pages and on the cover of the
October - November - December -
2001 issue of Poetry Depth
Quarterly.
