PREPARATION OF A CAMERA READY COPY FOR ISSSTA’98

Your camera ready copy should be prepared in a DIN A4 format (209 mm x 297mm) but 8½ " by 11" format is also acceptable. Specifications for how to prepare pages are included in this kit. Your paper should be submitted on laser printed pages with clear, sharp text and figures. Your presentation will be reproduced in the Proceedings exactly as it is received.

What follows are instructions and helpful hints on how to best prepare your paper for submission. Please follow these instructions carefully.

PREPARING PAPERS ON A4 FORMAT PAGES

It is preferred that presentations be submitted on DIN A4 (209 mm x 297 mm) with a top, left, right, and bottom margin of 15 mm each. In case of 8½" x 11" pages, the top margin should be ¾" , left and right margins 5/8" each, and bottom margin 1". It is imperative that nothing appears outside of these margins.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Camera ready copies should not exceed five pages. In case of overlength manuscripts, additional page charges will be invoiced. Type text copy single spaced within a two column format with at least 8mm between columns.

SUGGESTIONS

COPYRIGHT AND PUBLIC RELEASE

An IEEE copyright form must be signed and sent together with you camera ready copy. Your paper will not be published unless the form is received. Receipt of your camera ready copy, together with the signed copyright form, constitutes release for open publication. No cancellation of such release is permissible. Do not send you manuscript if it is not 100% cleared.

FIGURES FOR PAPERS AND PRESENTATION

When producing the presentation and reproduced art, figure lines should be crisp and clean, and all text should be bold and easy to read. Avoid handwritten or too small text.

FONTS

Provide laser printer (at least 300 dots per inch) or equivalent output with font sizes of acceptable quality. A serif font, such as ‘Times’, no smaller than 10 point, with 11 to 14 point leading is suggested.

HEADINGS

Major headings should be centered in the column. Use capitals and small capitals if available. Subheadings should be set in italics or underlined, and placed on the left hand margin on a separate line. Subsubheadings are italicized or underlined, indented, and run in at the beginning of a paragraph. A brief abstract (one column wide) should be included as the first paragraph of the paper.

REFERENCES

List and number all bibliographical references at the end of the paper. When referring to a reference in the text, type the corresponding number in square brackets[1]. In general, all references must be available to the reader. References to proprietary manuscripts, such as internal reports, must be avoided. An example:

EQUATION NUMBERS

When numbering equations, enclose numbers in parentheses and align on the right-hand margin of the column.

PAGE NUMBERS

Number manuscript pages lightly in pencil on the reverse sides. Do not use any page numbers on the front.

SYMBOLS AND ACRONYMNS

Use only IEEE standard symbols and unit abbreviations. The use of International System of Units (SI units) is advocated. Define any acronymns the first time they appear.
