Spyware?

 

Here are some signs:

-New Toolbars in your internet explorer

-Lots of Pop-ups or Ads

-Blocked sites related to anti-spyware or virus software

-Your homepage has changed by itself

-Blue screens

-Error messages on start-up

AdAware and Spybot are good programs, spybot has free active scanning whereas AdAware does not, other than that, they do the job quite nicely. You must run these programs at least twice a week if your on a high-speed constant connection. Make sure you download Service Pack 2 if running XP.

 

MSCONFIG can be used to deselect all third party processes to speed up your computer.
