Renegades Current Record :

GP. W L T Pts GF GA +/-

24 7 15 2 16 118 171 -53

The Richmond Midget C-5 Renegades have had a trying time indeed this 2000-2001 season . Now in the midway 24 games played part of the season , the Renegades are 8 games under 500. That alone said should scare any Renegade fan . But the Renegades are not nearly as bad as their current record indicates . A lot of those losses occurred when the Renegades blew Third-period leads . Also the Renegades have been beligered by a stach of injuries and players getting new jobs . Two lines are the norm for most of the games this year , but on the positive side , at least the Renegade players playing in those 2 lines are getting a lot more ice time and therefore becoming better players . The first half wasn't a disaster or anything like that , it was an learning experience . Let's hope for a successful playoff and tournament run in the second half of the season' .

.

Now let's grade the players and see how there currently doing !

A+

Jay Howard LW 24 16 19 35 34

Has Come into his own this season ! His game is up top flight and all goalies are going ballastic about his accurate and hard slapshot. Leads Renegades in Assists and Points . Will have career high for these and possibly a career for goals if he keeps up his brilliant pace.

A

Daniel Pi RW 21 12 18 30 12

This dude can scate ; and scate some more ! The best scater on this year's 2000-2001 Renegades squad , Daniel has a nack of fooling defencemen with his little dancing deeking move that he does . Daniel needs to stay away from other teams players who taunt him and try to get Daniel off his game by taking stupid penalties and getting suspensions for fights . This is the only hindurence to Daniel being an A+ player.

B+

Tyler Epp RW 22 19 15 34 58

Third year Midget Ice Hockey Player Tyler Epp has had an extremely up and down season . One game Epp is the star , another , you might not even notice him. Tyler leads the Renegades in scoring and penalty minutes with 58 currently . Has had run-ins with a few Renegade people , namingly Gaelen and the Coach . But his at times very vocal attitude is a plus when fighting another team for the puck . Missed 2 games . One for a league suspension , the other a team suspension . Can rise to an A player if acts better to coach.

B

Dominic Jugovic C 23 11 17 28 40

The "Dominator" has been enjoying a tremendous year thus far ; "statistic-wise" anyways . He leads all first year Midget Renegades players with an surprising 28 points in 23 games . Dominic has played almost the same way as he did last year in Bantam when he ammased 34 points in 48 games , but this year Matt Greenwood got traded and many Renegade players have had injuries or new jobs . With all these things going on , Dominic has played as the teams No.1 centre for half of the season so far . This increased Ice Time and lucky bonces has given Jugovic already a career-high in assists and a career-high in points is 7 points away with 24 games still to play.

B

Tim Lin C 19 13 13 26 28

Renegades chosen first-line Centremen has showed he can play with the elete . Tim is almost there in terms of being an A player . The only thing that's holding him back is his job . Has missed 5 games thus far because of it . Also Tim has been a hitting target for many teams . Has been bruised up several times but is tough and even tougher for goalies to stop when Tim get's hot . Expect an even better second-half from Linney-Boy !

B

Shawn Scott G 21 0 8 8 6

Rookie goalie Shawn Scott has worked hard all season to master his craft . And with all the rubber that he's faced this far , a league high 678 shots , Shawn has has all the practice in the world . Shawn's a goalie so he has his great days and his bad ones as well . Scott will keep on improving with more experience that he's getting . Should benifit from the two-game rest he got recently when the Renegades got Goalie Ian Wyzzel from the Farm Club, down in Richmond Bantam C-5 , to play two games . B-

Carl Chia LW 19 11 11 22 22

Carl has had an pretty impressive season thus far . Part of the Greenwood trade , this first-year Midget Left-Winger has scored some important game-tying and winning goals for the Renegades . Always a hard worker , Chia will get even better next season as he grows taller and his body widens and gets stronger . Currently on a bit of an slump , should get out of it shortly .

B-

Gaelen Mogan D 23 7 11 18 36

Mogan has been steadilly improving through-out the season. Came into camp completly out of shape and had a rough start but has become hotter in the past 10 games or so . Has the strongest Renegade slap-shot ; he broke the glass at the Sunset Arena Office ! Mogan is a lot better suited at Left-Wing where he scored 5 goals in one game against Killarney last year in Bantam . He plays D because Thomas Bakke is injured and out for the year and the Renegades currently are not deep on D like they where last year as we have no Campbell,Rensleigh or Aydin Smith this year . Mogan can be a super-star if he gets in better-shape.

C+

Chad Oyhenart D 18 4 8 12 30

Chad has had a good season , just not a great one . Oyhenart has a job and can't make it to all the Renegade games. More of a stay-at home defenceman , the Renegades new captain is a born-leader and was very vocal durring the Renegades 7-game winless streak earlier this year . A great teacher , Oyhenart must use his body more to become a B+ player .

C+

Darcy Pi D-LW 15 8 9 17 12

The younger brother of Daniel , Darcy has all the tools but it seems some of the tools are hiding high up in the shed . Has missed 9 games to work and a sore foot . Not the swift scater as his older bro , Darcy is just as good if not better at stick-handling than his older brother . Should play more games in the second half as the playoffs and tournament come up . If Darcy gets hot , he'll have a 25 + goal season .

C

Katsumoto Sakaguchi RW 19 2 4 6 0

Second year Midget and Ice Hockey player , the Japenese Jaws has improved his scating and stickhandling , but still has a lot to learn . Has two goals thus far.

C

Vincent Forsberg LW 18 3 4 7 12

Vincent isn't the best scater of them all , but he has heart and is a good forechecker . While his point total doesn't prove it , Forsberg is an good passer so look for him to rack up a few more assists in the second-half . Must play more game though to get a better letter-grade.

C

A.J. McKenzie RW 24 5 13 18 20

A.J. Thrived last year in Bantam . He was older than a lot of the players and played with some great players . This year A.J. has had not such a great impact as last year . To put everything in perspective , last year this was A.J's point total for the whole year: McKenzie 46 20 30 6 50 . Now 50 points is very impressive indeed ! This year is A.J.'s first year in Midget so another 50-point season is hard to expect . A.J's on pace for an 36 point season which an't too shabby . McKenzie's grade would be better if he worked more harder in practice on his scating .

C-

Micheal Knowles D 15 1 4 5 16

Micheal is a lot better than his point total indicates. He is in the Aydin Smith mold , but is more taller and stronger . Micheal has missed 9 games due to work so that is a hindurence to his hockey skills . Micheal should be more of an factor in the playoffs and spring tornament , than his grade will rise .

D+

Thomas Bakke D 6 2 2 4 18

Part of the Greenwood trade , Thomas was to be the Renegades blue-line star , but fate just didn't see things that way . Early into the season , Thomas was scateboarding outside his house and suddently fell awkwardly on his shoulders . He got examined by the docter's and they told him he would be out for the season . Darn , that was a big blow for the Renegades . Not only is Thomas gone , but Gaelen has had to come back to playing D becuase of Thomas's absence . Tough Luck !

F

Yong Min Kim C 13 5 5 10 10

This was supposed to be Yong Min's breakthrough season. Last Year Kim went on fire in the Spring Tournament and so much was expected of him in the 2000-2001 season. But Kim has not played up to the hype , or even near the hype . He doesn't like playing out of Richmond and latly doesn't like coming out of his house . His bad hockey attitude combined with his unwillenness to play on losing teams , has destroye Yong Min's Hockey talent. Only the spring tournament and he he comes back to play , will save him now .
