Renegades Win Playoff Opener

The Bantam Renegades From Richmond prepared for the playoffs by winning their final two regualar season games by close scores. After scoring 5 goals a few nights ago, Gaelen Mogan led Richmond to a 4-2 victory over Killarney with his brilliant defensive and offencive play of a goal and an assist. Matt Greenwood led point wise with 2 beautifull goals and an assist.

Dominic Jugovic got a natural hatrick; his first since playing Atom six years ago, as the Renegades won their final regualr season game 6-5 against Thunderbird Midget. One of Jugovic's 3 goals was a plays of the year candidate as he was tripped up on a breakaway and while on his belly he stickhandled and shot the puch blockerside. Greenwood and Mogan had the other Richmond goals.

Then the Renegades began their quest for a playoff championship by opening up on the road against Arbutus. This game was a close one with each team having the lead but the Renegades came out on top 4-3. Ramsey Pretty made several key saves in the third period while Greenwood, Jordan Cosulich and Micheal Hartmann provided the offence. Chris Bergman, Matt VanDeventer, Pavle Djuricanin and Travis Nordin supplied the rock solid defence.

The Richmond Renegades finished the 99/00 preseason/exhibition season with a record of 6-0-0-12 and in 24 games played in the regualar season, Richmond compiled a stellar record of 15-6-3-33. The Renegades had 124 Goals For and 97 Goals Against in the regualar season. In their final 19 games the Renegades only lost 3 times thus the Renegades are hungry for a playoff championship.
