This game was defiantly not the offensive blockbuster that Saturday Nights Game against the Rockets was but nether-the-less it's playoff hockey and everybody loves playoff hockey !
Dominic Jugovic got things rolling with a beauty of an wrap-around goal in the first period. Chad Oyhenart and Tim Lin got the helpers . The Renegades played sound defensive hockey as they took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Richmond Goalie Shawn Scott was drowsing off to sleep as the Renegades played stellar defence all through the night , and the second period saw Vancouver register only 3 meesily shots ! Team overall point leader Jay Howard scored mid-way through the second to give Richmond a commanding 2-0 lead over the disenchanted ThunderBirds . Vincent Forsberg and Yong Min Kim got assists .
In the third , Tim Lin continued his playoff point-scoring assault with a gorgeous wrist shot that put the puck right into the sweet red and white-meshed net. Dominic Jugovic and Darcy Pi got the assists on the Renegades last goal of this game . The ThunderBirds spoiled Shawn Scott's shoutout bid with just under 5 minutes to go . Richmond Midget C-5 won 3-1 over the hapless Vancouver Midget C-1 ThunderBird squad . The Renegades current playoff record sits at 2-2-1 in 5 games so far in this 2001 playoff year.
