Kidney donors regain every ounce of energy

What a wonderful, heart-warming story about Tanner Clark giving wife Marcela one of his kidneys.

The story by John Bermingham hit home , as one of our sons gave my husband a kidney 18 months ago.

My husband was on lidney dialysis for four years--four very long years to him.

In the article it mentioned Tanner would have lower energy for the rest of his life.

Our son, now 35, is an avid mountain biker and goes to Whistler and other locations on a regular basis.

In June he passed a strenuous physical endurance test and came away with flying colors.

I do not want anyone to be put off being an organ donor because of the expectation of low energy for the rest of their life.

Our son feels he is in better physical shape than he was before the surgery.

In response to the John Bermingham article about the husband donating a kidney to his wife, I had a kidney removed when I was 17. I am now 76.

I do not recall ever experiencing lower energy and presently am very active with walking, bowling, water exercise and taking part in our condo development.

Please notify Tanner Clark, who is donating a kidney to wife Marcela, that he will only have lower energy if he believes he will. Be active and lead a normal life and it will be no different.
