Chatam Point, BC
N 50'20", W 125' 26", elev. 42 feet.
Located approx. 20 miles north west of Campbell River B.C.

The very first lighthouse station I ever worked. What an idyllic setting to begin lighthouuse life.
Chatham Point is a bit different than most lights on the coast. The 'light' is positioned off of the station, on a concrete pillar with a fiberglass tower on top. It sits out in the channel to tell passing vessels that a sharp turn is imminent. This turn can be seen on any map of Vancouver Island, right where Johnstone Strait meets Discovery Passage. Take a look right where Vancouver Island 'bends' on the inside passage.Thats Chatham point.
