Your Weyrleader is D'ffed rider of bronze Grith. You are now in the Weyr located in what
was once called the Two Face Mountain.
Your new home occupies all four of the cones. The Primary Cone houses the Weyrleaders'
Complex, the Main Hatching Ground, Feeding Grounds, weyrlake and stock pens, weyrs for the
riders of Icarus, Morningstar, Ambergris and Phoenix Wings -- the last Wing is stationed on the
'Benign Face' and is on constant guard for river pirates and other waterborne undesirables. Plus the
usual Lower Caverns for dining, the living quarters for the support folk, and entertaining
purposes.
The Second Cone is our Healer Hall. It is a complete hospital facility, with an excellent
Maternity Ward which is carefully 'isolated' from the rest of the hospital (to keep the loved
ones of the deliverees from hearing all the nasty invective -- they can get VERY creative!!! --
heaped upon their heads. It also dissuades them from waddling out and otherwise throttling the
man who left them in this condition!) The hospital also is equipped with bubbling hot springs for
those aching, sore or stiff muscles, sprains, etc. -- and men and women with the most
talented hands on the planet to get rid of the kinks and knots. There are also large bathing pools.
Our Healers, animal as well as "people", weyr here. Our riders who are also Healers are
located in this cone as well. It, too, has a Lower Caverns for feeding those injured or
recovering riders and dragons, a lake for dragon swimming and feeding grounds and stock pens.
There is, however, no Hatching Grounds.
The Secondary Hatching Grounds are located in the Third Cone. The Wings
housed in this
Cone are Firefall, Blitz, and Hope. The usual Lower Caverns, lake and feeding facilities exist here
as well.
The Fourth Cone houses our Weyrling barracks as well as our third Hatching Ground. In
addition to Tejas Verde and Gather Wings, our Weyrling Wings, Seafoam and Skymaze Wings
are also housed here.
All four Cones are connected by an ingenious subway system for the transportation of newly Hatched dragons, and their weyrmates, from the Hatching Grounds in the upper two cones to the lower Weyrling Cone. The subway is used only for the transporting of the newly matched pairs. There are also miles (and miles!) of tunnels between each Cone.
We have several Holds, both Major and Minor, who look to us for their protection. Piemur
River Hold, Janus Sea Hold, Dawnslight Hold, Kwond Sea Hold, Twin Moon Hold,
Springriver Hold, Kantara Hold, Greenriver Hold, and High Cup Hold are the Major Ones.
Piemur Rivers' current Lady is Naomi. This prosperous Holding, located on the river of the
same name, is home to our Support Weaver Crafthall. The Lady's Consort is Trampus and the
Steward is Ruddegar. This is also the second oldest Hold in the Territory. Looking to this Hold
are the Minor Holds of Farkri, Miran and Redrock.
Janus Sea Hold is located on the coast, northeast of the Archaeological Plateau Site. The Lord
Holder, is Llewellian. His predecessor, his Lord Father Falstan, died under mysterious
circumstances only days before his Heir's Confirmation. His Lady Wife is Carolyn and their
Hold Heir is Alexian. This Hold is home of the territorial support Harper Hall (the Southern
Harper Hall being Cove) as well as being the Southern Continents Seacraft Hall. The Master
Seacrafter is Captain Kaden. Looking to this Hold is the Minor Hold of Pine Knoll and a small
Mining Hold, Sparkle Hold.
Kwond Sea Hold is located just a "hair" east of longitude 14 and right on latitude 20. The Lord
Holder is Ector with his Lady Wife Kay (full sister to Falstan's widow, Alexis, of Janus Sea
Hold). The Hold Heir is Lance.
Greenriver Hold, located on the Green River, is Lorded by Andre and his Lady Wife Ilyssa.
The previous Lord was Gorban, Andre's sire, who was lost to us shortly after Andre and Ilyssa
were handfasted. This Hold is also the home of Janus' support Smithcraft Hall. Looking to this
Hold is the Minor Hold of Skree.
Dawnslight Hold is located on the Aurora River, and just a "hair" west of longitude 14 and
about latitude 31. This Hold is known for its wonderful vineyards and so has a support Vintner
CraftHall there. It is Held by young Lord Halamer.
Twin Moon Hold, located longitude 18 and latitude 60, has always been a Matriarchy. It has
been Held by a Lady Holder since its establishment. The Lady Holder, confirmed Turn's End of
the fourteenth Turn of the Pass, is Tashana. The previous Lady Holder was her mother,
Mirianne. They are the territory support Crafthall for the Animal Healers. They raise and
train excellent thoroughbred runnerbeasts, as well as the famous dancing Gormlithe White
stallions. They also raise bay "work runners".
Springriver Hold is an island Held by the Lady Valkrin and located in the islands sprinkled off our
coastline and just barely in our territory at the corner where latitude 13 crosses the Equator.
Interestingly enough, this holding started out in the last Turns of the Ninth Pass as a Pirates'
hide-out.
Kantara Hold is Lorded currently by Rael. His ladywife's name is Dorrin. Looking to Kantara
Hold is the Minor Hold of Twin Rocks.
High Cup Hold, located approximately longitude 18 and latitude 67, is Lorded by Tasunke, and is
another excellent Beasthold.
Our territory is bordered on the West by the Piemur River (which runs right next to the Weyr) at
longitude 13' and goes eastward to longitude 18' and Twin Moon River. From the North, we
cover from 0 degrees latitude southward to 90 degrees latitude.
