Position: rider in Ambergris Wing of Daedalus Flight.
M'rvel lived at Janus Weyr. He is outgoing, makes friends easily, and keeps them. Doesn't mind helping out and does not 'keep score'. He does have a quick temper, usually triggered by injury or insult to others, never of himself. Fortunately, it subsides just as quickly as it flares. He's always been this way and has a reputation as a protector of the underdog. He also has the muscle to back it up. Short (5'4") and compact, but don't tease him about his size! Doesn't think anything is wrong with having a female Weyrleader. The outside isn't what counts with M'rvel, but the ability of the person (got this from his mother).Needless to say, he has to visit the Weyrhealer after defending his position outside the Weyr. Some jerks in the Weyr tend to disagree with him, in spite of everything. He lets Gemma fight her own battles if she can. But, if someone -- one of the Weyrjerks, no doubt -- bad mouths her while she's gone and can't defend herself, M'rvel will set the person straight. Born Marvel to Morst and Vella of Twin Moon Hold, he began to wander (with parent's permission) and worked in various Holds, Halls, etc., turning his hand to many tasks. Eventually worked his way across the territory and, forced to seek shelter at the Weyr when a bad storm struck the area, M'rvel came in by way of the tithing train entrance and located the Lower Caverns on his own where he helped himself to klah and meatrolls. There he was seen by Junior Cook Leilani who, thinking him either a lost guest or late Candidate, dragged him to the Hatching Grounds. Cameleonth's second Hatching was all but over when he arrive. He was reticent enough to feel that this was Weyr business and he shouldn't be there when an egg with the outline of a dragon in flight (reputedly marking a bronze) breaks shell. The dragon pops out and M'rvel hears him. Ashith was hungry and a little upset that M'rvel was late getting to the Grounds. He has coppery skin, a tendency to move gracefully -- like a cat -- and a slightly warped sense of humor. He loves practical jokes and puns and tells them with his lilting voice. For this and various other reasons, he doesn't lack for bed companions and Ashith supports this also. He never ends a relationship on a bad note and prefers to talk things out as he would rather not fight. That is a last resort, though he makes it a point never to fight with women. His wavy, collar-length red hair is turning red-gold in the strong Southern sunshine and his has emerald green eyes. He has two sisters, twins Amber and Berani, riders of silver dragons now residing at Haven Weyr. M'rvel is also easily recognized during Fall. He's the one with the scarf! He had transfered to another Weyr, but recently he has returned to Janus' fighting wings.
