Jerintha is one of the Janus weyrsingers and is also a dragonrider. She Impressed her green Peraath at Fort Weyr. She was born to a Fort Hold son (Jorel) and a Telgar daughter (Kintha) at Fort Hold. She has three sisters and two brothers, plus a multitude of cousins. Jerintha's hair has never felt the touch of scissors, except to be trimmed of split ends. As a result, it gets in the way when she hasn't got it braided. She walked the tables to Journeyman at the age of twenty-three, having studied as a weyrling at Fort Weyr. She was twenty-one when she Impressed her green, having been Searched only two weeks previous to the Hatching. When asked the Weyrs for a new Weyrsinger, she transferred. Jerintha flies in Seafoam Wing and, though separated from him, is still very close to S'lian. She is his only intimate woman friend and neither seems to want the relationship to go any farther than that. Although, there is an attraction. And, who could blame him? She is gentle-natured, sweet-tempered and a GREAT songmaker! Although she has a tendency to go off like a startled wherry if she spots laziness (Gemma had been known to send her looking for Jess), injustice of cruelty. She is ever ready to help people in any way and especially likes to make up songs that poke gentle fun at people ( Rumor has it that she crafted a song about Da'mon finding himself in the lady Weyrleader's bed! She has, however, promised Gemma it'll never be played for company or outside the Weyr.)
