Gemma was the twenty-fifth Weyrleader (012.05.03 -018.11.03) and the first female to attain such a position in the Tenth Pass. She is 4'9" and weighs in the mid-eighties. She has black hair and eyes and is very fair complexioned. She Impressed her black Ebeth at Segel Weyr -- in the Ninth Pass and reappeared mid-Tenth Turn of the Tenth Pass at Southern Weyr after losing an argument with the infamous Windwall of the Far Eastern Continent. She is a basically shy person, except when she is in 'Weyrleader mode' or when Ebeth Rises to a female, and likes to keep her hand in the Weaver craft. She has a spinning wheel and a small loom tucked away in her personal quarters at Janus and, when troubled by a knotty problem, can be found there spinning yarn and humming the old Ballads of Pern's History to herself. She is knowledgeable with bladed weapons and can handle herself if necessary. But, she doesn't like the idea of possibly having to kill another human being. She was the youngest (and smallest) of twelve children, all the others brothers and so she learned to fight early on. By the age of nine, her eldest brother had taught little Gemma how to whip the other ten. She is looked to by four firelizards, golden Gildenfire, bronze Bennu, green Menace (A gift from the Lady Holder of Twin Moon Hold, Tashana.) and her most recent accquisiton, bronze Gaurdian. She is also the mother of two sets of triplet sons, Remmar, Gebos and Tammar who were born 011.01.08 and fostered at Southern Weyr and Gemmus, Timus and Syndol born 015.13.20. She was formally handfasted to Master Harper Brandon of Janus Weyr two days before she lost the Weyrleadership.
