Born at High Reaches Weyr to A'peral, rider of bronze Skuroth and greenrider Naiara who was also a Journeyman Starsmith, Anara now lives at Janus Weyr and rides brown Koth in Blitz Wing. Anara grew up at High Reaches with but one desire -- to Impress a dragon. Her mother, rider of green Mioth, insisted that her daughter MUST Impress a queen and was furious when her tomboy daughter had the audacity to Impress a mere brown! Her bronzerider father did his best to shield his daughter from the Journeyman Starsmith's fury, but he was killed in a very bad fall. Niara, realizing that she could not live without her weyrmate, begged her Mioth for release. Just before Anara was due to graduate from Weryling training, her mother and green dragon went between. Not too long after, Anara transfered to Janus Weyr. There, it was discovered that Koth was extreamly sensitive on Search. Thus it was that Anara was sent to Piemur River Hold to Search for candidates. Disaster struck there in the form of Lord Lastan, who managed to corner the young brownrider in an inner room and rape her (Koth destroyed serveal yards of wall trying to get to her). Anara's previous four pregnancies had all ended in tragic miscarriages. She realized that this was probably her last chance for a child and so refused to abort. She slipped into a guilty, angry haze for much of her term. K'shon, a greenrider and mindhealer, as well as a former fellow-Weyrling, began to help with the young woman's slow recovery. When her son, whom she named Kanaren, was born she decided to forget the past and go on with her life. Not surprisingly, she and K'shon were soon weyrmates and, twelve Turns later, they watched with pride as Kanaren Impressed bronze Kereth at Janus Weyr. They have also adopted S'tar, rider to young bronze Androth, and Jessa, a shy little eight Turn old girl who was cast out of Piemur River Hold. Anara now keeps a motherly eye upon her son, K'naren, who now flies with Firefall Wing. She is easy going and quite shy and intensely proteactive of those she loves, cold to those she hates. She has a gentle voice loves both Koth and K'shon with all her heart.She and Koth are Search riders and fly with Blitz Wing at Janus Weyr. She is 5'5" with a slender build, wavy black shoulder-length hair which is held out of her light blue almond-shaped eyes with a headband. Her eyes are very intense and deep set. Her mouth usually now caught perpetually between a cheerful quizzical smile and she has high cheekbones, a golden tan and a Threadscore on her left forearm. She is also righthanded and always appers in tan wherhides with dark brown boots, belt and vest. While she wears no jewelry she does carry a razor sharp belt knife with a diamond in the pommel, in her words; "For the next time I see Lastan." Need it be said that she is not allowed near Piemur River Hold and is sent elswhere on the few occassions when said Lord Holder has to be at the Weyr? She is considered a very courageous person but with a near-pathological hatred for Lastan (who can really blame her?) and she never talks about her past. She staunchly supported Weyrleader Gemma and is proud of Koth's Search ability. She is very interested in training weyrlings and is looked to by six firelizards: gold Pasha, bronzes Bashful, Sunny and Tamet and blues Squeak and Squawk.
