ok have you noticed alot of marijuana on this page? i will explain my reasoning.
first off, i am strongly against the death penalty. i think that it is stupid to kill people who kill people and it does not serve as a deterant. also, most of the people who are murders and rapists and would be receiving the death penalty are usually, to some extent, mentally unstable and should be in some sort of a hospital where they can be taken care of and possibly helped.
if we legalize marijuana to where it is like alcohol (only available to, say, people 21 and over) we would have more room in the jails for the rapists and murders. also, statistics prove that it costs less to house the prisoners than to execute them.
the legalization of marijuana has proven to work out in amsterdam. although amsterdam is considered by many to be the porn and promiscuity capitol of the world, it has never had a high crime rate. only recently has the crime rate in amsterdam risen because of the intrusion of the hells angels and the banditos gangs from america, who have taken over and forced organized crime.
the legalization of marijuana could possibly bring about a lower crime rate in america and could even lower the number of users of harder drugs, such as heroin and cocaine. plus, marijuana is natural, useful for many things, and fun.
