I will be formulating our introduction from information gathered from the BURP members, this way everyone wishing to do so can add their input as to how best to describe ourselves.
Just to get started I will say the following:
Burp was born about 1994. It's roots consisted of probably 4 or 5 beer enthusiasts, all of which had an interest in crafting their own beer. Word got around and it was not long before we had a gathering of probably 14 or 15 at our monthly social meetings. I say social because that is the way we wanted it, just social get togethers to share our homebrews and microbrews. We have seen faces come and go over these past few years, but our attendence still averages from 8 to 10 people on a monthly basis. Special events attract more.
Our monthly gatherings are held at the Nugget Restaurnat in Monticello, NY the first Friday of each month at 8:30 PM., unless a holiday falls at the same time, or we are planning a closely occurring special event and elect to combine the two.
All are welcome. Bring your favorite "whatever". We have enjoyed homemade wine, mead, beer, breads, sausage and snacks over the years.
