Black & Blue Tour, San Diego Concert ; March 18, 2001

Yes, I did travel to San Diego to see my boys again! This time I took my little cousin Matthew, a die hard A.J. fan who is only 7 years old. All he wants to do is meet his fav Backstreet Boy. So here we are heading on down to San Diego. We got there around 6:30 p.m. and we go down to Sports Arena and see if the concert had started yet, well it hadn't. So we went to my Aunt's house on Coronado which whom we would be staying with for the weekend. We got dressed and were ready to hopefully see these boys. Especially A.J. for Matthew. We drove back to the Sports Arena and waited to see if somehow, someway catch the bus and follow it. Finally the bus did eventually come out and of course we followed it all the way to a hotel. Matthew & I jumped of the car and to the front of the bus just to see Brian jump off the bus and run into the hotel. :( Even though we just saw him run in the hotel, Matthew was like "OMG, that was Brian...that was Brian!" kind of facial expression on his little face. We waited for the other boys to arrive, but it seemed like Brian was the only one in the bus, and the only who was there at the time. Matthew eventually fell asleep on a bench with his little "Black & Blue" CD cover in hand, until a stupid security guard came out with nothing better to do but kick us out because "we were not guests at this hotel." Well, the next night we were able to get tickets for the show! Matthew was totally freaking out because this was his first BSB concert. We got there and he got a t-shirt, dog tags and a glow stick. Well, he definitely enjoyed this concert because our seats were right there near the ramp and they were able to touch our hands. Well, Matthew was able to touch Kevin's hand! Kevin touched his hand and he couldn't stop tallking about it! It was so cute! We also saw A.J. really really really close but he couldn't touch hands because this was during "Yes I Will", and as some of you know, they had a cane in one hand and their mic in the other. Oh well. During the last couple of songs we left to try and find my mom in the car because she was picking us up. We finally found her and got in the car and we were thinking if we wanted to follow the bus again or not. We decided to follow it and once again the bus leaves the arena and we follow it, we knew where it was going so we went in front of it and headed to the hotel. Matthew & I jumped off the car again and was right in the entrance so we didn't miss one of them. The bus arrived and Brian jumped off the bus again in a white tank-top. I said "Hi Brian!", then the bodyguard told me "Don't get in his way!" in the rudest voice ever!!! Brian smiled at me in the biggest smile and said "Hi!" Then I asked if Brian could sign our things, but he couldn't because the bodyguard pushed him into the hotel. Brian looked at me like he was telling me "I want to, but I can't" That was the closest I had I have ever come to Brian! That was cool. I finally met him though, but without a picture or autograph! It's okay cause I can still see his face in my mind. Hopefully next time I will be able to take a picture with him. We went inside the hotel and waited again....then this lady came and told us that only Brian was staying here, the other boys were staying somewhere else, and she told us where. We thinking if should go to that hotel...or was this all a lie? We figured what the heck, if their there at that other hotel great, if not we'll just come back here, so we headed down to the other hotel. When we got there, we figured she was telling the truth cause girls were standing around everywhere. We sat in the car and talked, then my mom saw flashes of camera lights and girls saying "Oh my God!" and my mom said "Justine that's Howie! That's Howie! Hurry! Go take Matthew!" So we ran to Howie...but he had just got into a car to take him someplace. So we saw him from the window. Then we saw it was about to leave, so I grabbed Matthew and put him in the car and my mom followed Howie's car all the way to a nightclub. I got off the car with Matthew and we waited outside of Howie's car door. He finally came out of the car and smiled at me and I talked to him, but it was a quick conversation because his bodyguard had to get him inside. Howie's bodyguard was very nice I must say! But right before he walked inside of the club, Matthew's mom asked him if he could take a picture with us and of course being the ultimate sweetie that he is, he did. When you see the picture below, Matthew looks very nervous with Howie. After Howie went inside, Matthew was very quiet...then a few minutes later he asked if he was going to be able to see A.J., so we headed back to the hotel. We met some girls there that said that they had just been to Nick's room and said that some other girls knocked on his door and when he answered he was shirtless, but he told them "Girls, I am very sorry but I am very very tired and I was about to go to bed, so maybe I can sign your stuff later, Okay?" Then he closed the door. They also said that A.J. wasn't staying here anymore too, so we didn't get to see A.J. for Matthew! :( He was so dissapointed. When we found out A.J. wasn't there, Nick was asleep, we had no idea where Kevin was and we had already seen Howie, we left the hotel. At least Matthew got to meet Howie, and touch Kevin's hand! ~His day will come for him to meet A.J., that's what I tell him cause I know he will one day!~



My scanner kind of made the picture look kind of fuzzy and made my face look kind of weird, so sorry about that guys!
