The Border Collie is a Very Intelligent Dog , Border Collies are NOT mini Collies. They need alot of room to run , making them not good for apartment life. They are very loving dogs , great with Children And they can also be a watchdog. Border Collies are very loyal, smart, beautiful, and will do anything to please you. They'll always keep their eye on on "Ewe"!
The Border Collie came from the border of Scotland and Britain. But some people just say Great Britain.
They come in a lot of colors. The most common, black & white. Then there's Red & white. Tri color. Red tri. Blue merle. Black & blue merle. Chocolate & white. Sable & white. Red merle. And a blueish color & white.
Their life span is from 14-16 years.
The Border Collie weighs from 35-60 pounds.
They are 18-21 in. high at the withers (shoulders) for Females. 19-22 in. high at the withers for the Males. (height, and weight standared may vary in different kennel clubs)

They were bred and still are bred and used for Herding. They are very smart dogs. They can be inside or outside, but most rather be outside. If not exercised enough, the Border Collie can become very "Bored" If you do exercise them,and love them. If you don't give them "jobs" to do, they're find some on their own, as in, herding that Cat, young children, and chew everything in sight. Border Collies dominate the world of agility, herding, flyball, frisbee, and almost everything else! Many people have found the best sport for their Border Collie, is agility. It's a fun, nice, clean sport for you and your dog to do.
