(Kivessa):Okay, it's time to go,: Charmiaz told Kivessa as Kivessa got up out of her chair. She had been relaxing for the last few moments until they had to leave on another Black Eagle hunt/raid.
:Lovely. Let's go plunge into death,: Kivessa replied sarcastically. She yanked her gun holsters off of their rack, almost tipping it. She looked towards the door, hearing someone knocking. She fastened her holster around her hips and legs and secured the shiny grey guns.
"Are you decent?" she heard a muffled yell from beyond the door.
"Yes, why wouldn't I be?" she said as she threw on her heavy wool sweater. Even if it was almost summer, travelling on a dragon in the clouds was still too cold for shorts and a t-shirt. She pulled the neck down over her head in time to see Tavin open the door and walk in.
"Uh, hello," Kivessa said, smiled, and proceeded to look for her pouch of bullets.
"You ready to leave yet?" Tavin asked. He already had his gear on. He had worn his holsters like the kind one would see on James Bond movies. They were worn inside his coat under his shoulders. What he was wearing, however, made him look like he was out of The Matrix. Black coat, black pants, navy blue shirt underneath, and the funky sunglasses.
"Almost," she said, and looked under the couch. She saw a small grey pouch underneath. She reached under and grabbed it. It contained the bullets. She tied the bag around her waist.
"Okay, let's go," Tavin said, and started walking to the door.
"Wait!" Kivessa said. "I need to get motivated." She walked over to the old CD player she had brought from Earth and turned it on to her favorite song: DCTalk's "Supernatural". While it was playing, Kivessa wondered if she should take her bow and arrows.
:I think this time I can go without it. I went last time and never used it.: She counted the bullets. :I have more than enough bullets so I should be fine.: The song abruptly ended, and Kivessa and Tavin left Kiv's room, only to meet up with more people downstairs.
"Finally you're ready. The forces have already assembled in Dentily," Kaya said impatiently, arms folded across her chest. "Okay, I'm never going to get over that name. It sounds too much like 'Dentist'."
Kivessa shook her head and looked at Kaya. "Let's go then." Everybody was suited up for battle, their ill-equiped selves looking, as usual, like they might not return home. Which was a scary thought to Kivessa. But she knew that she'd just be killed if she didn't fight back. She shook off that thought as she went down the hall to find Charmiaz.

(Kivessa):It's on our tail!: Kivessa yelled to Charmiaz. The battle had started only a few minutes ago, and already they were being chased. This Black Eagle was a small one, but it still had the maneuverability to fly as fast as Charmiaz. Somehow, being the biggest thing flying in the sky had something to do with how many Black Eagles went after you. It was clear to Kivessa that it was time to use her guns.
:Charmiaz, can you slow down and go a little lower? I need a clear shot to take this one down. If it was bigger I could maybe do it at this altitude and speed, but it's a little one.:
:Will do,: Charmiaz said, and immediately slowed and swooped down by a hundred feet. Kivessa strapped the gun onto her wrist before taking it out of it's holster so it didn't fall, and carefully took aim as Charmiaz stopped beating her wings. The Black Eagle, being too stupid to know better, came in closer and faster. Kivessa squeezed the trigger and felt the slight kick of the gun. The Black Eagle faultered, then flapped furiously with it's right wing, holding it's left still.
:I must've hit it's wing,: Kivessa deduced, and aimed again. Since these guns were mere hand-guns, a person had to have a lot of practice with them to be able to shoot them properly and accurately. Kivessa spent a lot of time practicing on targets inside her lair, for she liked the idea of having a hand-gun. It seemed almost like she was back on Earth and was some sort of secret agent person. :They might laugh at me for that, but that's their problem. I had a very boring life on Earth, and this is more exciting, even if it could kill me someday.:
She shot again, and this time hit the creature in the chest. It screamed, then plummeted at least a thousand feet to the earth. Only then did Kivessa look around for any others. There weren't any! Charmiaz dove to skim the treetops, and someone flagged her down. The person was a fellow silver, but smaller than Charmiaz. Charmiaz landed in the meadow nearest to the silver, and ran the rest of the way to where she was. She saw another young woman, with dark hair and she was taller than Kivessa (but then again, who isn't?).
"Um... do I know you?" Kivessa said.
"No. I'm Elan. I was sent to find you. I was told you were in need of me," she said.
"Oh! You must be the healer-ish person. I'm Kivessa," she said, and held out her hand in a business-like manner. Which was uncommon to Kellarian people. Kivessa sheepishly took her hand back and sighed.
"Yes, I am. So, where do I start?"

(Elan)"Start?" Elan looked a little confused for a moment.
"Well, I could start by examining you for wounds, but I think you'd know if you were hurt, and I can tell that you are in perfect athletic condition. If you'd like, I could do a more thorough check on your well-being at base." She noticed that Kivessa looked confused herself.
"I'm sorry," she said, immediately contrite. "It's just that this is my very first official mission."
:Thus her fear is displayed!: the little silver happily supplied.
"Hush, you," Elan soberly said, flicking the young silver in the soft part of the nose. "You're ruining it!" A smile was beginning to sprout on her face, however. Torbie, the silver, began to make faces.
At this, Elan's face fell. Well, there went her reputation: Hook, line, and sinker.
"There might be more Black Eagles around," Kivessa said uneasily. "We can't play around right now."
"Of course, of course," nodded Elan. "Allow me to make a quick assessment of your physical prowess..."
:Big words!: giggled Torbie, rolling her eyes. :This means that she's trying to make up for lost ground!: "...and then you can return to the sky to look for more of those... those Eagles!" she shuddered. :Hush, Torbie. This is getting rather irritating.:
:Oh, now you hurt my feelings.: Torbie began to scrunch up her face as if to cry. She looked more like she was about to sneeze.
Elan quickly asked some questions on if Kivessa had received any hurts or scrapes. As Kivessa told her about a sore muscle, Elan dove into a pouch that Torbie held out with one paw (while scrunching up her face rather comically) and took out a small vial of liquid.
"Drink this," she told Kivessa. "It should loosen up the muscle and give you a smoother agility throughout the day. It is completely natural. You shouldn't have any side effects, and if so, I'd like to know immediately."
Elan watched as Kivessa took to the sky again, the empty vial in her hand, and noticed another dragon that was air-borne. She couldn't tell how old, what size, or what color it was because it was flying into the sun, but she wondered who it was flying about at a time like this.

(Ekyla)Ekyla circled the air on Mellekey, where was Eli'akim? Instead of pondering the thought alone she formed her thought in Mellekey's direction.
:Do you think you could get a hold of Drinth, Mell. I need to talk to Eli: Ekyla said scanning the skies with one hand over her eyes to block the sun.
:There already back at Dragon Moon... And that's where I wish I was too. That battle really took it out of me. Think we could head back soon?: Mellekey asked with a tired sigh.
Ekyla watched as the few reamining people made their way back towards Dragon Moon. She watched as Elan and Torbie made their way back also. And seeing the she was the only one still in the sky she readily agreed with Mellekey. They turned towrds Dragon Moon, the sun glinting off of Mellekey's Bronze hide.

(Ekyla)Once back at Dragon Moon Ekyla stripped of her riding gear and half ran towards the lab. She found Eli bent over another of his projects.
"Working without me, love?" Ekyla called out to him.
Seeing Ekyla standing in the doorway Eli got up from his seat and strode over to Ekyla, wrapping his arms around her and giving her a soft kiss. "Let's say we ditch this joint and wander around the beach," Ekyla said as their kiss ended.
"Why not, we haven't had enough time alone. We both deserve a break." Eli said dragging Ekyla out the door.
Ekyla, with a bow and arrow, and Eli, with a hand gun, stepped out into the hot sun and watched the birds flying in the air. They walked alone on the beach, too into each other to notice how far they were from Dragon Moon. A mistake that hopefully wouldn't cost them their lives. For out of the sun, came a dozen black eagles, and both Eklya and Eli knew they didn't stand a chance without their dragon's there to help them. As Eli stood his ground, Ekyla looked around for any cover she could find, seeing none and knowing that turning her back to run would get her killed, she joined Eli in his fight.
"Need, some help," a voice said behind Ekyla.
Ekyla turned then and was happy when she saw a dragon and it's rider;
Jemina. "Glad to have some help, get your dragon to call for help. I don't think us alone could handle them. Eli and I have already called our dragon's, but we won't be much help until then..."

(Jemina)Jemina gave a sharp nod to the two and patted her golden dragon's neck.
"You heard them, Monada. Call anybody you can reach," she muttered as she reached for an arrow to set on her bow.
She listened with half a mind when her dragon bugled out the news of an attack to as many as she could reach. She already had one of the menacing creatures on target. It fluttered back and forth, dove a little closer, and that was when Jemina shot... and missed.
"Darn!" she exclaimed with frustration. Luckily Ekyla had been targeting the same eagle and her arrow didn't miss. The black eagle fell from the sky with a thump, only angering its companions more.
:They're coming soon,: Monada commented as she slowly lifted from the ground to get closer so she could use her sharp taylons. Jemina's next arrow scraped an eagle's wing, and it fell from the sky also. The number of eagles was reduced to nine, but it was still three to one - close to impossible.
"MELLEKEY, OVER HERE!" Ekyla started screaming from the top of her lungs when she noticed a bronze shape in the horizon. She would have been jumping and waving if she didn't need her both hands for shooting the arrows.
In the horizon, four dragons were already visible. The first two were without a rider, since Ekyla's and Eli's dragons had of course lifted off the first chance they got, while the others had to wait for their riders.
Mellekey was beating her wings as fast as she could, with Drinth close behind.
"Hey, it's Kaya!" Jemina shouted out when she recognized the third dragon and the rider, but her shout was cut short when Monada made a near-deadly dive toward the ground with a mean black eagle close to her golden tail. A crowd of black eagles had already gathered right above Ekyla and Eli, just waiting for a chance to dive down when neither of them were ready to shoot.
One black eagle who had lost its right wing was hopping along the ground toward Ekyla, too stunned to realize it could be in danger, only intent on killing.
The bravest of the black eagles was ready to make its dive toward Ekyla when it was suddenly whisked away by the sharp claws of an angry bronze dragon. Mellekey had flown the distance from Dragon Moon full speed, but the dragon didn't seem to realize she was tired. Her rider was in danger, and she was as mad as a disturbed bee hive. She paused just for enough for Ekyla to climb on top of her and then she was off again. Drinth was swooping up Eli only twenty seconds later.
"Let's beat those bastards up!" Ekyla shouted out as she shot down another black eagle. Eli cheered at that, but his shouts died down quickly when he noticed that instead of the original dozen, there were now close to twenty black eagles, as they, too, had gotten re-enforcements from somewhere.

(Kaya)Fyra veered to the left, then the right, trying to loose the Black Eagle flying close to her tail. Kaya was sitting on Fyra facing backwards, muttering under her breath, "Stay still Pashe-ki, if you want a quick death, that is." She aimed her gun at the soft flesh on the Black Eagle's neck, and took a shot. She missed her target by a long-shot, hitting the Black Eagle in the leg. The Pashe-ki shrieked and she let out a curse under her breath as the Black Eagle kept advancing. As much as she had faith in her dragon, she knew Fyra was not invincible.
:Fyra, stop ubruptly, right....: Kaya paused as the Black Eagle moved to be directly behind Fyra :Now!: Fyra stopped and the Black Eagle panicked, making a quick maneuver so as not to run into the gold dragon's lethal tail. As the Pashe-ki zipped over her head, she took a quick shot at its underside, which was now a clear shot. It was a direct hit to the Black Eagle's mid-section, around the stomach. The Black Eagle shreiked again, this time gasping a bit, and retreated. Kaya congradulated her dragon mentally.
:Good job, one down, however the heck many to go. Now to help Ekyla:
:And Eli, and Jemina: Fyra reminded her.
Kaya reloaded her gun, and shifted her holsters slightly. She felt like Lara Croft by the way she was wearing her weapons. There was a sheath for her dagger near her ankle, a belt around her waist which supported the holsters, one on each thigh, and held her small packets of bullets. In a few minutes they were on the ground, landing a short walk away from a scene of carnage. It took her a moment to adjust, it always did. There were those few seconds where she felt as if she was going to throw up, and then realized cruelly it was them or her, and went on. On Kellaria, this sort of thing could be considered a day job. She laughed stupidly at the thought under her breath and shook her head as Fyra quickly began walking the last few lengths between them and the battle.
:Something funny?: asked Fyra, waiting for her to get off so she could get in and help.
:Not really, I'll explain when we're not in peril, ok?:
:Are we ever not in peril?: Asked her dragon, and Kaya had to smile.
:Ok, well, I'll explain when we get back inside Dragon Moon: said Kaya finally, ending the conversation.
Kaya drew her gun, sitting backwards again, Fyra would watch for her, and she would watch for Fyra, or try to at least. As Fyra turned the last bend formed from a groove in the rock Kaya saw Ekyla. She was sitting, as fearlessly as you could get surrounded by a crowd of Black Eagles, on her bronze dragon Mellekey, Eli on his white, Drinth, by her side. Jemina on Monada was seperated slightly from them, fighting her own battle.
Suddenly, Fyra lurched upwards, screaming a war cry. In an instant Kaya was airborn, the gun fell from her grasp. She tucked into a rolling position, and suddenly felt herself hitting the ground, and began rolling on her shoulder. She couldn't stop herself, the momentum was too great. She felt a tang of panic as her body rolled into something hard, finally stopping. Covering her head with her arms, though little good it would do if this was a Pashe-ki. She released her arms from her head, realizing whatever she had rolled into wasn't moving, at all. She put her hands down to help herself up, and felt something wet beneath her fingers, wet and warm, fresh blood. She made a face, and cursed, wiping the vile fluid on her pants, knowing the stain would be permanent. She looked at her hand again, the blood belonged to a Black Eagle, whose belly and neck was slit, spilling out the vibrant red fluid. She licked her lips, and felt them sting, with instant realization she was going to have some new bruises and scars.
Falling off Fyra and finding the dead Pashe-ki had only taken a few minutes, but Kaya realized that she was unprotected as she stood.
She slapped her hand against her forehead, cursing herself for being so stupid. This was why the death rate was so high, and people died so young, thinking they could just stand out here in the middle of a battle and be fine.
She pulled her second, and currently only, gun from her hip holster, and turned. Just in time to see a Black Eagle coming her way. It was far enough away that she had a few seconds to think and aim, which was, as an ameteur, what she needed. She took a shot at the Black Eagle, hitting it in the wing.
:Great, I can hit it in the leg when its airborne, and in the wing when its on the ground, opposite as I need to stop the vile creature from moving.: Kaya thought to herself as she took a second and third shot, which missed the beast completely. The gun kicked slightly as Kaya took more shots. They seemed to hit everywhere but where she was aiming. They stunned the Black Eagle a bit, only partially penetrating the stiff hide, and drawing blood, but not stopping it.
:One bullet, no time to reload, one crappy aimer, and Fyra's too busy saving her own ass. I wish P'zaz would get his ass over here so I don't become lunchmeat!: Kaya thought to herself bitterly.
P'zaz had taken off after she had, once they had been alerted about the attack. Of course, he and Iomethe were of the four who had come as backup, :Sure, he probably has problems of his own to deal with, but he seems to be taking his sweet time getting here!:
Kaya aimed quickly, and hit the Pashe-ki in the eye. She made a face as the wound spewwed puss, but the creature continued coming. She swore in a mix of panic and rage, feeling certain she would die.
Suddenly, a shot cried out from somewhere beside her, and the Black Eagle fell, with the chunk of steel lodged in it's throat. Before Kaya had a chance to either thank or scream at P'zaz, she hadn't decided which yet, He ran towards her, grabbing her around the waist, and dove towards the ground, as she plummeted with him, in his strong grasp. In an instant she knew why. A Pashe-ki had been about to dive towards her, he had gotten her out of the way, and Iomethe intercepted it. They rolled a few feet down a shallow incline, coming to a stop under a small tree.
"Sorry," P'zaz said, pushing a few strands of her now dirt-entangled hair out of her eyes.
"Impecable timing," She said, trying to hold back a stupid grin, "now get off me."
"Sorry again." said P'zaz, slowly standing up, trying not to hit his head on any of the heavy branches. He offered her a hand, which she accepted gratefully.
"I was about to tear you limb from limb for not being there to back me up, but, you came through, as usual, so thanks." She said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheeck and a hug.
"You're welcome. You know, I think we need to give you some more target practice though." P'zaz said, slowly letting go of her. He turned to walk back up the incline, and Kaya ran to catch up with him. He slung his arm affectionately over her shoulder.
It was odd, Lara Croft and James Bond. that's what they looked like. P'zaz had his holsters on the under his shoulders, with a loose, white long sleeve, light shirt on. She supposed it was sort of like Mercutio's shirt on the Modern Romeo and Juliet.
Kaya tensed as she neared the top of the incline. A Black Eagle could pounce out of no where, and to them, she looked like lunch. Or an appetizer at least.
She stepped over a carcass and picked up a gun lying on the ground. It was hers, the one that had fallen when she had been flung off Fyra. She grabbed it and drew it forward. P'zaz removed his arm from her shoulder and drew his own gun. They finally walked over the crest of the hill, and Kaya could see more dragons coming for back up in the distance. One of the silhouettes was small, she guessed it was a green dragon.
:Hatoz: Fyra supplied.
Kaya brightened, and ran the over the crest of the hill, quickly mounting her dragon who was waiting. P'zaz followed suite, mounting Iomethe, who stood protectively beside Fyra. Hatoz landed just as Fyra and Iomethe began fighting again. Kaya breathed a sigh of relief that more back up had come.

(Giasemi)Giasemi got off a Hatoz and quickly grabbed her bow and arrows. A Black Eagle hovered above her. She aimed and got him in the neck.
:Nice shot!: said Hatoz.
"Thanks"
She jumped on Hatoz and flew into the air. Hatoz started flying at full speed almost throwing Giasemi off.
:Black Eagle behind us,and it looks like Kivessa is in trouble!:
Giasemi aimed for the Eagles neck and shot. It hit him in the eye. She aimed again. It pierced its scales. It screamed as blood flowed from its wound. Her next shot hit its neck as it fell from the sky.
:Now go save Kivessa: Hatoz said as he zoomed towards Kivessa.
Four Black Eagles were attacking her. Giasemi aimed and hit it in the head it yelped in pain and fell. Three more to go,she mumbled as she shot another on its under side.Kivessa shot the other two.
"Thank you Giasemi and you too Hatoz. I couldn't handle them all. I hate those Black Eagles. Lets go help the others." Then Giasemi flew away on Hatoz.

(Rena)Pashe-ki swooped all around Rena. She hacked at them wildly with her sword; she had long since run out of arrows. Her gold dragon, Vondi, swerved in erratic circles, trying to dodge as many Black Eagles as possible.
Out of no where, a Black Eagle hit Rena, knocking her off Vondi's back.
:Oh! Rena!:
Rena grabbed the Black Eagle's back with her left arm. She threw her sword arm over it's back, and hefted herself up into a riding position. Vondi dived towards her. Rena lifted her sword, and stabbed the Black Eagle underneath her. As she and the Eagle plummeted downward, Vondi swooped by, catching Rena.
:That was close.: She commented. :Don't try to ride Pashe-ki ever again!: she reprimanded.
Rena grinned. She wasn't eager to repeat the experience either.
"Fly towards the main group, OK?" Vondi flew as fast as she could, Black Eagles trailing behind her. Rena slashed at one that flew up beside her. The little pack of Black Eagles caught up with Rena and Vondi and started pecking them. Vondi hesitated, trying to bite more Pashe-ki than was possible for one dragon.
"Keep flying!!" yelled Rena, catching another Pashe-ki with her blade. Then another dragonrider flew up from under them and started killing some of the Eagle swarm.
