Training
Kellarian children are taught fighting skills at the age of six, and from then on are told to improve upon them. They usually stick with one teacher until their relocation at the age of 18 (this is to provide genetic variation, and is only done if the subject is un-permanented), at which age they should be fully trained.
Training with multiple weapons takes place from age 6 to 10, and when the trainee is 10, their weapon-of-choice should be prominent. At the age of 14, a Kellarian is allowed to participate in a Pashe-ki raid, which also means that they are elligable for awards and promotions. From then on they are permanent working members of whichever Citadel they reside at, unless a crime is committed (See the article on crimes).
To become a trainer, one must be adept in all forms of fighting, and be over the age of 16. Certain training requires the trainer to be a dragonrider, but on-foot combat against Pashe-ki does not, and so some trainers may not be Bonded to a dragon.
Forms of weapon-handling include sword-handling, archery, spearwork, star throwing, and now, with DM Citadel's invention, gun-work is taught. Also taught is what to do when one is caught weaponless, how to spot weapons out of natural things, and how to protect onesself from other people. (See also the article on weapons)
