Half the fun of travel is the esthetic of lostness
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost.

-= Lindos =-

On our first Sunday, we hopped on a boat at an ungodly early hour and sailed down here to Lindos, where we hit on the wonderful idea of climbing a mountain. This is me, taking a breather half way up...

The Acropolis was our first view as we stepped off the boat, and even though it took Gem and Kel forever in their flipflops, we hiked to the top via treacherously slippery steps and quaint marketplaces, found that they were charging an extortionately high entrance fee, laughed and half-walked, half-fell all the way back down again. But we did get to see some amazing views from the top of the mountain ~bs~
We found that it was much cheaper to book excursions like this through Greek travel agencies, rather than with the Holiday Company we came with...and the benefits were clear; not only did it cost you half as much, but you got to roam quite free without sticking to any faffy little guided tours... ~s~
-= Ixia =-

Towards the end of our vacation, we were fast running out of places to visit and since we'd already travelled the length of the East Coast, we thought a daytrip to Ixia, on the West Coast, would be interesting...
...at the end of the day we concluded that the palm trees were the most interesting things there ~l~ It was just a loooong beach and a loooooong road to go with it. Pretty in places though ~s~
