What is the BCWC ?  We are the men and women that make up the British Columbia Witchcamp Community, homebased in British Columbia, Canada and extending to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington, Oregon, California and points beyond.

BC Witchcamp got it's start in 1987 when Pat Hogan, who had organized workshops for Starhawk in Vancouver convinced her and other members of  Reclaiming to come from San Francisco and teach a week long intensive in magic and ritual.  This was the beginning of an annual event - BC Witchcamp.

The community and activities that has formed around the camp is made up of Reclaiming trained witches from all over Canada and the US That first BCWC was the grandmother of all the Witchcamps that followed -- 5 in the US, one in Germany and one in England.  BCWC is held annually at Loon Lake, usually in the last week of July. What is Reclaiming?   Reclaiming is a community of women and men working to unify spirit and politics. Our vision is rooted in the religion and magic of the Goddess -- the Immanent Life Force. We see our work as teaching and making magic -- the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture.
