I liked this idea of aliens pretending to be Voyager Crew members! It was a unique idea and I had not seen it before in other Treks (which they tend to mimic at times).

I found it a nice touch to have little details about their Starfleet uniforms being a little off (the huge pips and combadges, and the wrinkled grey shirts)! I loved the interplay between Neelix, Tom and the Doctor in the mess hall with the shell game. “All we need now is a mark…” as Tom said, and the Doctor was it! I also liked that the Doctor got tricked at the end! I also thought it was cute how the duplicate Tuvok seemed in awe of the real Tuvok! Ok, is it just me, or does Tuvok look and act a little weird in this episode?

I was enjoying the show but near the end of the episode, things got a little muddled. Was the Neelix’s visit to the female alien in the brig set up? If not, how did the Doctor and Tom get onto the Delta Flyer so fast? Wouldn’t it take some pretty intricate programming to get the Doctors matrix to look like the female alien’s? Also, the Doctor seemed to know that they had a stash of supplies hidden somewhere. How? All in all, the story twist was the making of a good idea, but the holes left me a little baffled.

After being subjected to a few “dry” episodes, “Live Fast” was a pleasant change. I liked it!
