"Dragons Teeth"

Dragon’s Teeth failed to stir any real emotions in me. I felt neither happy, sad, angry, or frightened. It really doesn’t stand out in my mind as a great episode or a bad one, but it is one that I will soon forget.
I thought that the special effects in the show were better than usual: with the subspace corridor, the Vadwar’s home world, and the many alien ships.
Before even seeing the show, I know that there were rumours of the Vadwar being the new reoccurring enemy and threat to the Delta Quadrant and Voyager. I didn’t like it. After the Kazon, you’d think that the writers and Producers would have learned their lesson. I dreaded another Vadwar Episode in Season Six, but it didn’t happen. Now, I hear talk of a Vadwar episode in Season Seven. Let’s just hope that it gets swept under the rug…
I was amused with the number of times the attacking aliens were referred to as “friends” by Chakotay and Tuvok.
I didn’t like the look of the Vadwar. To me they looked similar to Cardassians: a snake-like neck. Yuck.
Another little problem I had was with Janeway blaming Seven at the end of the episode for the escaped Vadwar who might be a new threat to the Quadrant. Sure, Seven woke Gedrin from his bio-stasis unit, but Janeway herself was the one who woke the rest of the battalion and made an alliance with them. In fact, if not for the curiousity of Neelix, and then the Borg cross-referencing by Seven, the Captain wouldn’t have known of the Vadwar’s past or their dastardly plans. I think Seven deserved thanks from Captain Janeway, not misplaced blame.
All in all, the episode was very dull, not my favorite.
