Okay, which dufus on the bridge didn't notice Lyndsay's transmission to Voyager? I mean, the artificial intelligence in "Warhead" emits a generic distress call, they hear it; a large alien shuttle sends a message directly to Voyager, it goes unnoticed by the bridge crew.

Did… anyone… notice… that… the… Doctor… was… talking… very… slowly… in… this… episode? It was almost as if he felt uncomfortable working with the actress portraying Ensign Ballard. Or ?

This doesn't make sense to me: Lyndsey ordered a salad from Neelix, but after one bite, rushed off to her duty shift. If she had planned to be early, why order the salad and not give herself enough time to eat it? Just wondering…

Harry commented that in six years he has never once been invited to dinner in the Captains quarters. That is so like Janeway. She neglects the regulars in her crew (with the exception of Chakotay), while going out of her way to pamper "lost sheep" such as Seven and now Lindsay.

Boy, after finding out about the Doctor's hidden talent, I'd be in Sickbay at the first sign of a bad hair day. I can just imagine: "Please state the nature of the follicle emergency." "Well, my hairs kinda flat… I mean, it's just lying there." J

It was nice to see Harry get the lead in one episode this season; it's just too bad "his" episodes always seem to consist mainly of encounters with unattainable alien women. (Oh sorry, also dead people, as in "Emanations",) Just think of "Alter Ego", "Favorite Son", "The Disease", and now "Ashes to Ashes". I guess you could also count "Non Sequitur", in which Harry is involved with a parallel-universe Libby.

"Ashes to Ashes" was certainly tolerable, but dragged at times. I suppose it was worth the 45 minutes I invested in it, but I wouldn't give it another 45.

Bottom Line: Won't watch it again - Dead or alive.

I liked this episode, but it was a little dark in places. It was an interesting idea to have an alien race that collects dead corpses and reanimates them in their image. I wonder sometimes about jettisoning bodies into space, and whether it's a good idea.

I thought that the actress who played Lindsay Ballard was very good in her role. She played very well off Harry, and the other crew members.

I liked the Seven/Borg kids sub plot. Mezoti's exchanges with Lindsay, Naomi, Harry and Seven were great. I liked how stiff and "mean" Seven was with them. I liked her Activity Schedule with the hour assigned to "fun". I liked seeing Seven administer the Punishment Protocol 9 Alpha to the twins (standing in the corner?!). I didn't think it was right for Chakotay to force Seven to watch the kids if she didn't want to. I'm sure Neelix could do it… but I guess in the end, Seven adapted and was a little easier on the kids.

Now back to the main story. I found it strange that, Lindsay, being such a strong person, couldn't handle acting more Kobali or people looking at her differently.

Harry's : "In six years, I have never been invited to the Captains quarters for dinner," was funny to me. If I were Lindsay I would have said, "Yeah, well you haven't gotten promoted in six years either, buddy!"

The dinner with the Captain was pretty uncomfortable, but I did enjoy the exchange of the Captain mentioning that Tuvok had found 37 ways to repel the Kobali, and Lindsay asking if it included the Captains potroast. It was hilarious!!!

Sometimes I felt Lindsays comments, and jokes about death to be a little cold and they made me uncomfortable. I guess that has to do with my problems and fears of death…

I think it was best in the end for Lindsay to go back to the Kobali. She looked, felt, tasted and thought like one. It was the best choice for her.

A sad story, made me cry. It was good.
