May 6-7 Starting Young Horse clinic with Christine Schwartz at The Icelandic Horse Farm, Vernon, B.C. We will be working with 4 year olds ready to start under saddle as well as foals teaching them to be haltered and led. The horses will be taken through a variety of steps using TTEAM methods to safely start them under saddle using understanding and cooperation rather than dominance and force. June 1 – 2 Icelandic Riding Clinic with Christine Schwartz, Priest River, ID. Using concepts from Centered and Connected Riding as well as ideas and exercises from Iceland we will address the horse’s gaits, different problems under saddle and the rider’s most effective seat. We (Icelandics Northwest, an adult riding club) had a succesful clinic with Christine Schwartz as the clinician and hosted by Curtis Icelandics in Priest River, Idaho. The facilities were fantastic with the Curtis's seeing to every need and helping promote the spirit of fun!! They provided pens for horses, horses for riders, a great BBQ, a trailride,and an area so we could all camp out right there!! All this in a valley surrounded by mountains and beauty - wow!

I believe we ended up with 14 riders. Christine and her sidekick Tammy Steen managed this very well and we all received individual attention, too. Christine's vast experience with the breed allows her to keep the clinics interesting for all different types of riders and levels of horses. We even had a saddle fitting session that was soooooooooo helpful!!!
