My 2 x 4 CD Holder
My little CD holder.
Challenge #1 in senior wood was to build something out of a
piece of 2" x 4" x 8' pine. It took me quite awhile to decide what I was
going to build. I finally settled on this CD holder to display my autographed
Veruca Salt CD (my pride and joy). I ended up using only 1/2 of the 8"
piece and therefore I lost some marks. If I had known I'd have so much
left I would have made a second one. One thing I learnt from this project
was that many of the cuts were similar to eachother as they ran around
the perimeter of the case. I wasn't thinking of this during production
and ended up adjusting the table saw for every cut because I made every
piece individually instead of all at once. Production would have gone much
faster if I'd made everything together. I plan to line the inside with
velvet and place some glass in the front.
