Jam Jams

(serves approx.1 dozen)

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
6 tbsp corn syrup
2 eggs
1 tsp lemon or vanilla extract
2 tsp baking soda
4 cups flour

Mix in given order. Flour to make dough stiff enough to roll. Roll thin, cut into circles (about glass size) Bake at 350-375 F. until golden brown. While still warm, put two circles together with your favorite jam in the middle. If put into a tightly sealed container they will remain moist. Cookies improve with age.
