Card Tricks

effect: A spectator selects a card and puts it anywhere in the deck. the performer then explains that he will summon a card to tell him how many places away that card is from it. the magician spreads the cards out on the table and there is a card face up when the others are face down. the card is a six and so the magician counts down six places from that card and he presto that is the chosen card. secret: before hand place a six of any suit as the sixth card from the top of the deck face up while the others are face down. Now spread out the cards not revealing the face up six and ask a spectator to chose any card he/she wants. Tell them to remember the card. tell them to put the card at the bottom of the deck or tell them to put it anywhere in the deck and move it to the bottom without disturbing the top six cards. then ask them to cut the deck wherever they want and mutter some hokus pokus and spread out the cards and look for the six. when you have found it count six from it to the right and there you have it the informative card!

Effect: You trick the person into believing that the card you gave him (or her) is a different card. Card

Trick: Show a deck of 52 cards (not trick cards) and ask someone to verify that it is not a trick deck. Fan the cards and ask a person (who won't mess it up) to take a card and show it to everyone but you. Put the card second from the bottom of the deck, making sure that nobody can see the bottom card, and shuffle the cards. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SHUFFLE THE LAST TWO CARDS! Then ask the person if the bottom card is her card. Naturally she will say no. Act like "Oops, I messed it up." While you are saying or acting that, slide the bottom card toward you a little bit so that you can grab the card above it, and say "You're sure that that was not your card?" She will say yes. Then say, "OK, hold out your hand flat, palm up," and hand her, her card face down. Tell her to place her other hand on top of it tightly so that the card doesn't fall. There are two ways of finishing this trick.

Finish Number 1: Tell the person to hold her hands out in front of you, and while she is doing that, quickly slip the bottom card (the one that is supposed to be in her hands) to the top of the deck. Say "OK, now that you have that card in your hands [showing her the bottom of the deck], I'm going to shuffle these cards." While you are shuffling, keep the top card on top! When you finish shuffling, take the top card and give it a little rub (face down) on the person's hand and say something like "Your card has now appeared in your hands." Then show her that the card she thought she was holding is now in your hand.

Finish Number 2: This is a little bit harder because it's embarrassing if you mess it up. It's a bit like Finish 1 except that you spin a card. Slip the bottom card to the top, and keep the tip of your little finger under it. Remove any other card from your deck and lay it face up on top of the deck. Then pick up both cards, pretending that they are one, put down the rest of the pack, and hold the two cards together with your second finger at 11:00 o'clock and your thumb at 5:00. (Your hand is above the cards.) With your right hand beneath the cards, take hold of the other two corners so that your thumb is at 1:00 and your second finger is at 7:00. With your right hand, bend the corners down a little. Bend the card back and forth a couple of times, and when you feel ready to make their heart skip a beat flip the cards over fast. Now they see that the card that is supposed to be in their hands is actually in yours. My right hand is the trickster. When I'm bending the cards, I pull a bit downward which makes the cards spin so that it looks like it just magically appeared!

effect: A spectator picks two cards from the top of the deck. The spectator then puts the two cards into the middle of the deck. Without shuffling or arranging of the cards, the cards magically teleport into your hands!

Preparation: For this trick, you have to have two pairs of cards that are EXACT matches. That means same colour, same number, same suit. Take two cards from another deck to get these. (Editor's note: these are called "Stranger Cards") Let's say you're using the Ace of Hearts and Ace of Diamonds. Arrange the deck like this; take the two cards that belong to the original deck and place one on the top and one on the bottom. Take the two duplicate cards and place both on the top. Now you're ready for the trick. (Note: do not let them see the bottom card)

Card Trick: Tell the spectator to take the top two cards (Ace of Hearts and Ace of Diamonds). Flip through the deck till you reach the middle (do not expose the bottom card). Tell him to place the two cards in the middle. With the back of the deck facing the spectator, use your thumb and pointer finger to gently hold the deck with your right hand; use your left hand to catch the deck. Swiftly push down, letting the whole deck, (but not the top and bottom cards) fall into your left hand. And there they are: the Ace of Hearts and Ace of Diamonds magically teleported right into your fingertips.

You show a fan of cards and throw them in the air and they magically change to a silk.

Secret Get 14 cards and fan them. Then punch a hole in the point where all the cards meet In this hole put one of those gold bending holders. This will allow the cards to swivel into a single card width. Attach a piece of elastic to the last card and to a safety pin. hook the safety pin on the inside of your jacket. Palm a rolled up silk in the hand that holds the card fan. make an upward throwing motion, catching the corner of the silk with your fingers. Let go of the fan. The cards will swivel into a thin package and fly up your sleeve, leaving the silk in your hand. ABRACADABRA!! Note If you sew a small bead to the corner, it will be much easier to grip. Effect The spectator freely selects and signs a card from a deck and puts it back were ever he/she want's. Then the magician brings out an envelope and has the spectator sign it and the magician then puts the deck back in the case. The magician then rips open the envelope and takes out a card (remember, no switching because the envelope was signed). The card is turned around and for sure, its the spectators card but what's amazing is that it has the spectators signature!

Secret You need a stripper deck, a small envelope, a pen, and some magicians wax. Before anything, you must put some m-wax on the back of the envelope. You have them select a card, sign it's face, and return it. Then you shuffle the cards and cut the selected card to the top. Then you bring out the prepared envelope and put it on top of the deck, to have a reason for doing this, you take the same pen that you had before and have them sign the envelope BUT only you hold the cards ! After they are done you put the rest of the deck in it's case. Now rip open the small envelope and pretend to take something out from inside it but actually slide out the selected card. Now very slowly, turn the card around.

Effect: a chosen card changes in two a different one with no tricky movements The Performance: When the spectator picks the card and looks at it, secretly palm a card off the deck. Hand the deck to the spectator and tell him to place his card on top. When you take back the deck, act as if you are squaring up the deck but actually place the palmed card on top. Take off the top card and ask what his card was. Flip over the card, and it has magically changed into another card.

The Changing Card Variation Effect: Now not only does the card change, it disappears! Variation: Do the trick exactly the same except for one minor preparation. Place on the top card a piece of double-sided tape. This way, when the spectator places his card on top, it will stick to the other card. Now the card changes, and also vanishes! please sign my guest book. Effect

A card is selected by a spectator and when found, has a bite mark on it.

Secret

For this trick you need a deck of cards and a double of one card You also need any stuffed animal a mouse, a dog or a fake rabbit works best but any stuffed animal will do. Take one of the two cards that are the same and cut the upper left corner in the shape of teeth marks, place the second card on the bottom of the deck. Then place the card with the bite mark on it third from the top. Force the bottom card. Put the deck in the box. Put the stuffed animal over the deck and close your eyes explain to the specator that the animal was going to find there card. Remove the cards over the box and fan through the backs of the card state that one card was going to be affected by the animal. When you get to the bitten card turn it over dramatically. Play around with the patter and this one is a killer.

Effect

The magician deals the black aces face down on the table. A spectator chooses a card and places it face up between the aces. When the 3 cards are put back in the deck, the spectator's card dissapears from between the two black aces and reapears between the two red aces!

Secret

You must first place one red ace FACE UP on the bottom of the deck. On the top of the deck, place a black ace, the other red ace on top and the last black ace at the top of the deck.

To present: Show the black ace on top to the audience and put it back on top of the deck. YOU MUST PICK UP THIS CARD THE SAME WAY AS YOU WOULD PICK UP TWO CARDS AS ONE. Without this the trick will look very fake. Now deal the black ace on to the table face down.

Now secure a finger break under the second card from the top(the other black ace) and lift up the top two cards. Show the black ace around and put both cards back on top of the deck. Now deal the TOP (red ace) card face down on to the table, slightly overlapping the first card, making sure nobody sees the face of it.

Now ask a spectator to choose a card and place it face up between the two cards so that it's "sandwiched" between the aces. While the spectator is looking at his card and showing it to other people, make another finger break under the top card in the deck (The black ace you didn't put down).

Now take the three cards on the table, making sure the red ace is on top, and put them on top of the deck (finger break still there). *This is a good time to do a magical pass/action/word

Now lift up the four cards above the break (the audience thinks you're lifting up three) and flip them over, putting them back on top of the deck.

On top of the deck is the two black aces with nothing in between them! Keep the rest of the deck squared so they don't see the face up red ace under the spectator's card. Make a remark about the spec.'s card disapearing, while you're cut the deck in the middle and putting the bottom part of the deck on top.

Spread the deck on the table and point out the two face up red aces with a card in between. Flip up that card and show the spec. the card that he picked!
