October 1, 2007

by Sassy

REMINDER:  October 4, 2007 TNA’s iMPACT goes to two full hours!  Don’t miss a second of iMPACT action on Spike TV.

Tomko in Japan

Tomko and Giant Bernard, the IWGP tag team champions, were scheduled to wrestle in Japan the months of September and October.  It is being reported that Tomko was not visible during either of the new two hour TNA iMPACT tapings.

Dark Angel a No Go

TNA has confirmed they passed on getting Sarah Stock aka Dark Angel for the newly formed women’s division. I found some information on her wrestling in Mexico, but lost the link.

The Amazing Kong

The Amazing Kong has signed a deal with TNA. We will get to see her in action on the iMPACT before Bound for Glory.

IMPACT Rating

Last week’s iMPACT did a 0.91 cable rating even lower than the week before.  Source: www.angrymarks.com. Just as we thought iMPACT would beat out the ECW/WWE show, they surprised us.  I thought last week’s show was worth watching but I didn’t read all of the spoilers that showed up before the show actually aired. Most wrestling news websites are carrying the spoilers that cover the first two-hour iMPACT tapings. I am not sure what the purpose of the spoilers are but I wonder if they take a toll on actual ratings.

TNA got four hours on Spike TV since they will be replaying Thursday night’s iMPACT on Saturday night.

Positive TNA News

www.gerweck.net has an article by Nick Nailer regarding rumors, facts and a positive outlook for TNA and TNA fans.

Somebody’s Mad at Samoa Joe

And you can read all about it at www.gerweck.net.  It appears Samoa Joe and Chris Sabin were both booked to work PCW matches.  Sabin did his gig without a hitch but it appears Joe thought he was a little too good for the promotion and the competition.  The promoter praises Chris Sabin for his work but let’s Joe have it and then some.

Mike Tenay on The Pain Clinic

Mike Tenay was on The Pain Clinic interview.  You can find the link to it here: http://www.feelthepain.net/.

Duluth GA Fall Festival

Several TNA stars made an appearance this past weekend at the Fall Festival held in  Duluth, GA. Among those appearing were The Steiner Brothers, AJ Styles, So Cal Val, Jimmy Rave, and Primetime Elix Skipper.

Y2J Goes To WWE

It appears to be official.  Chris Jericho has chosen to return to WWE versus coming over to TNA.  Source: www.tnawrestlingnews.com.

Last Week’s iMPACT

I just read a review last week’s iMPACT and am miffed that all the action with Judas Mesias, Sting, Rhino, Kurt Angle and Abyss took place AFTER the cameras went off and those of us at home missed the good stuff.  C’mon TNA, it’s not like I can hop on a plane and fly to Florida every week to see the matches.  No fair!

My apologies to TNA, iMPACT, Spike TV and anyone else I insulted last week after finding out there was action I didn’t see at the end of iMPACT.  The action I missed really was telecast just not on my television.  I got a copy of the ending and will add an addendum to last week’s iMPACT recap.

Gerweck’s Latest Poll

One of our favorite sites, www.gerweck.net., ran a poll asking fans if Paul Heyman should go to TNA now that he is officially out of WWE.  With 1,939 votes in, the response was 65% YES and 35% NO.

We hear through the grapevine that Mr. Heyman is doing is best to stay away from wrestling these days and has been concentrating on writing in a non wrestling venue.

Not Necessarily TNA News

Chance Prophet, NWA National Champion

Since this site isn’t carrying a separate Indy news report, we wanted to pass this along.  Chance Prophet suffered an in ring accident that resulted in major surgery, including 8 screws and a steel plate in his left leg.  He didn’t have health insurance and the total cost was over $10,000.00.  He is auctioning off personal items on eBay, all wrestling related, in an attempt to pay off some medical bills. You can see the story here: http://www.pwbts.com/messages/12288.htm. Best wishes to Chance for a speedy recovery.

We Don’t Have A Separate Ring of Honor News Section

So we are including this bit in TNA’s News Bytes. Ring of Honor’s “Driven” pay per view was scheduled to be on demand cable channels this weekend. Prior to the airing of Driven, the owner of ROH sat down and did an interview with Sports Radio 1130 WDFN.  You can find out more about that interview here: http://www.wdfn.com/pages/wrestling.html.

The ROH pay per view is going for $10.00 and we read it is well worth the investment – and NO, I did not read any spoilers!  Jimmy Rave is listed as a competitor, along with Roderick Strong, and Matt Sydal.

Speaking of ROH wrestling, there will be an ROH show in Boston, MA on October 5 and in Edison, NJ on October 6.  You can see the lineup and get information regarding both shows here:

http://www.pwbts.com/messages/12317.htm.

Tickets are available at www.ROHwrestling.com.

Brian “Crush” Adams Autopsy Report

Adams died from a multiple drug overdose.  It is reported he had an opiate-based painkiller in his system as well as muscle relaxants, another drug cocktail.  As far as we could ascertain, all of the drugs were prescription drugs.

Injuries Reported in Mexico

TNA News: We know that Judas Mesias took a nasty fall after leaping from a ladder and missing his mark on September 16 at a AAA event in Mexico.  We still have no news of his return to TNA. The reports indicate Mesias is suffering from sciatica.

Sean Waltman, formerly of WWF/WWE fame is wrestling in Mexico these days.  It is reported that he is suffering from sciatica as well due to an injury in the ring. Waltman and Mesias were scheduled to be a in Bull Terrier Match against Juventud Guerrero and Zorro.  No word yet on whether that match took place. From what we can gather, a Bull Terrier Match is a match involving chains.

Gran Apache, another Mexican wrestler, is suffering from sciatica due to an injury and reports are he is unable to walk at this time. Source: www.ewrestlingnews.com.

This week, wrestler Mistico leaped to execute a flying head scissors, but his opponent slipped and Mistico landed on his head.  Last reports indicate he suffered from a concussion, but no further damage was found. No word on how long he will be out of action. Source: www.wrestleview.com.

Where Are They Now

RVD and Sabu will be in Melbourne, Australia on October 13th and 14th at the Sci Fi Expo to sign autographs.

Larry Zbysko fans can see him in action with Pro Wrestling Unplugged,
