• AN OPEN LETTER TO AEW OWNER TONY KHAN:

• May we call you Tony? It seems as though everyone else does, and, although we've never met, it would be appropriate to begin on the right level of respect. We do respect you for what you have been able to accomplish with All Elite Wrestling. We also have five suggestions which we believe would raise your ratings and AEW's world-wide respect outside of the business. In no particular order, these are the five. Feel free to ask for explanation, and to agree or disagree with our observations:

• 1. Go on tour. Work around the established television dates, and coordinate pre-show appearances and signings. Hit the larger cities two or three times per year, and have a goal to visit every city in the top 75 in the United States at least once per year.

• 2. In the area of production, cut out the scripted useless attacks, which leave the casual fan scratching heads over WHY and WHO are involved. Make your attacks sparing, and more meaningful. Stick to the script,and do more long-term planning.

• 3. Give your audience more credit. Not everyone who watches AEW appreciates the weekly, constant sexual innuendo which borders on perversity. Also, not everyone who watches AEW is a mark. Smart or otherwise.

• 4. Ban blading.Period. Establish a rule: no blood, unless it is accidental. As a promoter, I know that blood is used for one of two reasons: for realistic effect, or for the shock value. This is not the 1980's. Shock value is practically non-existent today, and fans, casual or otherwise, are wise to blading.

• 5. Cut one-third to one-half of the paid roster. The talent which is used on the main shows is a mere fraction of those who are under contract. Stop spending money like it's water. Find an economist who is wise to the business.

• That's it. We challenge you to give all or some of these suggestions a try. After awhile, you may see the ratings rise to the point that you no longer struggle to have a million people watch the product. With these suggestions in place, you may just give them a reason to tune in, and to come back.
