Character biography
Kiri is the Princess of Scanra who has come to Tortall to train her magic with Numair and Daine. She has a strong gift and a strong wild magic which are connected by a string of water magic. She is 9 1/2 and has been in Tortall for five months. She hopes that the King will allow her to train to be a lady knight of Tortall when she turns 10. She is good at fencing and horseback riding, but is bad at archery and wrestling. While in the palace she befriends young prince Liam and Kel.
Chapter one
" Numair, Daine, could I skip my wildmagic pratice tonight? I'd really like to help Kel find out who's sending her those gifts. I know I can find out who it is if I just try a little harder. Please!" pleaded Princess Kiri of Scanra. She had come to Tortall five months ago to train with Numair and Daine in wildmagic and the gift. Kiri was the first known person to have both, and sometimes it was hard. Though sometimes it proves troublesome, more often than not she was glad she had her magic. They helped her a lot when she praticed fighting. Working wirh them taught the 9 1/2 year old not to give up. She was exceptionally good at fencing and horse riding but had trouble at archery and wrestling.
" Has it ever occured to you that this person might not want to be found?" Numair asked sarcasticaly.
" Yes. And your point is?" she asked impatiently.
" You may go," he said.
She ran down towards Kel's room. The door was open since Neal was inside. Just great, she thought.Kiri didnt like Neal to much. He got on her nerves.
~Kel, what is he doing here?~she asked her, putting her magic into her words so Neal couldn't hear.
" He wanted to observe," Kel said. Neal heard what Kel said because Kel didn't have the gift.
" Kiri why do you do that? It's not fun only hearing half the conversation."
" Well then," said Kiri," don't listen. Now, let's get on with this.
