All I Ever Wanted
By Nikki

Oz sighed. It was nearly time for him to pick up Willow and he was nervous. Nervous because of what he was going to do this evening. Himself and his beloved Willow were going to Breakers wood to celebrate their graduation of college together and Oz felt he loved Willow enough now to ask her the important question. He looked down now at the small black box he held in his hand and smiled. God, he loved Willow so much. She was his everything for a good five years and a half now and although he knew it might be slightly early in life to do something as life changing as he was going to do this evening, deep down in his heart he knew now was the right time to ask her.

Thinking about her now even made him smile widely to himself. He was so proud of the women he loved and he didn’t think he would be where he was now today if it wasn’t for the love she gave him. He found himself thinking back to how they met. He was examining the canapé dish that really fancy computer stand had layed out for their selected students in the career fare the first time he had been in his senior year. He was contemplating the fact that he.. laid back musician Oz… had been chosen by this Microsoft company thing to be one of their executives! That was a lot to take in. And to make matters slightly more complicated, he wasn’t even remotely interested in this line of work. Or any kind for that matter. He was a musician. And that entailed playing music not typing your life away on a computer. The aspect of becoming a stiff, nerdy, computer cooperate suit guy just wasn’t his idea of cool. He was rapidly shaken out of his thoughts of canapé and computers when those suit guys came in again but this time, they had someone with them. A pretty red head who remarkably like… the Eskimo girl he had been attracted to that night in the Bronze. The girl who crossed his path on Halloween night when he was driving to the shelter club for a gig. He felt his whole dissolve into a haze. This was really her. He couldn’t believe he was going to get to talk to her. After all this time wondering who she was.

She sat down next to him and smiled sweetly. Her smile was so beautiful and genuine unlike those of the bitchy Cordelia Chase and her cronies. Then he realized he was staring dumbly at the beautiful young  girl  that was sitting just a few inches from him. *Say something man!!!* “
Canapé?”  *Oh yeah that was charming!*
But she only giggled and said sweetly.
“No thank you. My name’s Willow” She extended a hand and he took it. “Oz” he said giving her a lopsided grin. It was then he fell in love with her. Back in his dorm he grinned happily. It had been a funny way to meet someone as special as her but it was worth it in the end. He had started dating her and he felt as if he was the luckiest guy on the planet. How was he supposed to know that love had hardships. Specially the kinds like the one involving his Willow and her best friend Xander Harris. At that bad memory he shivered. Oz was dying inside. How could she do that to him?! He had loved her unconditionally, given her all the love he had in him… or had he? *Did I ever tell her I love her?* He didn’t know. All he could think of now was her lips on his!!! Xander!! Why Xander??!! He really should of known. Xander had been a selfish bastard. He could’ve had Willow any time he wanted when they were younger. But no. He was too interested in other things such as preying mantises, Inca mummy princesses and Cordelia. Not once did he consider that Willow might have feelings for him. It was only when she finally moved on that he wanted her. *When she was with me* Then they started kissing behind his and Cordy’s backs. Oz slammed a fist on the table he was sitting on. How  could he of been so damn blind!? If he had being paying more attention to his Willow she probably wouldn’t of resorted to that. It was like a knife to the chest when he caught them like that. He had been hurt before but this really bit the bullet. Right now he just wanted to kill Xander!!! But he wouldn’t really do anything. He knew what Xander meant to Willow and if he was to do anything drastic, he may ruin his chances of ever being with Willow again. So he sighed and put aside all his negative feelings. He missed Willow like hell. Tomorrow he was going to speak to her.

Oz was glad they worked it out between them. He wouldn’t have been able to cope without his Baby much longer anyway. They had had their rocky times but otherwise Oz felt as though they were good for each other. He was about to ask her to marry him and nothing else mattered. About a year ago he and Willow had found a cure for his lycanthrophy, well kind of a cure. It kept him from changing unless he really needed to. Which was good. He wasn’t dangerous to her anymore. And there was no way he would even think of harming her when he was human. He couldn’t even bare to get mad at her or shout at her for God sake. He loved her to bits. She was his beloved Baby and when she cried it broke his heart. He smiled again now and put the ring in his pocket. Grabbing his jacket and keys he rushed out the door to pick her up.

LATER THAT EVENING…
Oz and Willow lay together under the large willow tree in Breakers wood. The full moon glows romantically above them and they kiss softly. When they pull away Oz smiles at her lovingly and kisses her forehead , all the time stroking her hair and head.
“I love you…” He whispers
“I love you too… can I have more smoochies?” she giggles and Oz smiles back.
“Sure…” She moves in to kiss him but he stops her with his hand. “But first…” He stands up pulling her up with him. She gives him a questioning look and goes to speak but he stops her with a kiss. She kisses him back passionately and when they’re finished they stand there foreheads touching, arms around each other.
“Baby, I want to ask you something… and I’m kind of nervous so… I’m just gonna come straight out. But before I do I want to say I love you and always will.” At that he gets down on one knee and produces the ring from his pocket. Willow gasps, a smile forming at the edges of her mouth. Oz lowers his head reverently.
“Marry me, Baby?”
Tears fall down her cheeks and she smiles widely “Oh Oz!!! Of course!!!” Oz jumps up and hugs her tightly, tears streaming down his own cheeks. “
You’re all I ever wanted!” He spins her then as she lets a excited squeak escape her mouth. They stand there together and delve into a passionate kiss. Oz has never been so happy in his whole life. Through all their hardships and painful times, they’ve made finally made it. This moment is the end of their past times together and the start of their future together. They couldn’t ask for anything else!
